  • Ok, so what can I single out as part of my contract to say that I want it to stay the same ie I want to say 'please renew my contract with the current terms INCLUDING THE 1.8MBPS WEBNWALK PLUS'. It seems there's no way for me to identify the speed they are giving me at the moment?!

If you have an Android phone download the free speedtest.net app.
  • So earlier today someone from T-Mobile's 'Loyalty' or similar Dept called.

He wanted to know why I was leaving the network. When I told him about the internet speed he told me "they had looked at customers use of the internet and reduced the speed if the customer wasn't making full use of it".

I was shocked and said to him "So you changed customers packages without advising them - that is disgusting - you should be featured on Watchdog"

I told him I didn't want anything to do with T-Mobile and that they should remove my details as soon as I had paid up.

I would advise anyone to stay clear of this network!!

    LOL and LOL again.

    That makes me laugh.

When my wife received her SIM in Feb (when this deal came around again) it was immediately on the 0.3Mbps access - they didn't monitor anything to do with her internet.

Just proves what I said earlier about being incompetent or liars or both - they only give you 0.3Mbps on an internet booster now and have done since early this year, that is a FACT! And one that they seem somewhat hesitant to advertise, even amongst their own staff.

Enjoy the 1.8Mbps access while you can people and be warned that 0.3Mbps will be your limit should you decide to stay with them!

Reducing customers internet speed if they are not using it, what rot.
  • If people weren't using it there would be no need to reduce it! I want to record them on the phone telling me I can keep the same internet but I know I'd be fighting a losing battle proving it and getting them to change it back.

So what is the next best comparable package?

    I'm going to Giff Gaff.

£10 per mth for unlimited internet & texts and 250mins
Also free calls to 0800 numbers
Also topping up with £10 means free calls to my wife and daughter for 3mths.
  • And it's a rolling contract?

Is the internet truly unlimited and is it 1.8mbps?

Free calls to 0800 numbers!! I love Giff Gaff for that reason alone. It's an absolute disgrace that companies have got away with charging for that for so long.

You will probably find you will get MORE than 1.8Mbps depending on the area you are in and the coverage you receive, I would check out the O2 coverage checker on their website (giffgaff piggyback O2).

The 1.8Mbps internet is STILL capped by T-Mobile at their end at that level.
  • anyone managed to get the £7.50 pm offer for another 12 months, i read some where somebody also got offered £5 pm and you get 300 min, 300 txt, and 1 booster, is that true ?
  • It looks like you can get the offer again but they will reduce your internet speed from up to 1.8mb/s to .3mb/s
