  • I rarely use more than 500mb per month. If I do, I'm happy with t-mobile's fair use policy that will still allow me to browse and check emails.

Will the speed be slower on the below tariff though? At the moment I get about 4mbps but I think I read some people are limited to 1.8mbps.

    Monthly
    cost
    £10.00
    30 day
    mins 250
    texts 500
    MB 500

I was one of the original lucky ones who got the 12 Month Sim Only 15 which gave:-

    600mins
    500text
    Plus 2 free Boosters

So I selected Unlimited Landline Calls & Unlimited Data (3Gb then Speed Restricted).

    All for £7.50 a month

After 12 months I phoned T-Mobile and renewed with the same, but a year later I was informed that I could only have one free booster, so had to selected Data but was informed its now 500Mb...I wasn't 100% happy, but since I never came close to the limits it wouldn't effect me and was still better than anything else around at that time (it's just the principles of it) than came the price increases so the £7.50 is now £8.88, so paying more for less; but now its renewal time again.

So armed with the knowledge of Three & Virgin's offers (plus the likes of GiffGaff & Ovivo) I was all ready to move this time, I'd even bought a Three 321 PAYG Sim to try the coverage before moving to Three (but in honesty it wasn't as good as I'd hoped).

I phone T-Moble this afternoon and at first was offered the same as I was getting for another 12 months, when I politely stated what the original offer was compared to now, he then said the best he can offer was a 50% loyalty discount which the original offer was (£15 down to £7.50), so he offered me the same deal with a 50% at the current price therefore will be just under £8 a month.

I than asked if there were any other deals which was close to the original deal, he then offer me this 12 Month Sim Only Deal:-

    1000mins (to Mobiles, 01, 02, 03, 08 & Voicemail)
    Unlimited text
    3Gb Data

Which is £16 a month, less a 50% loyalty discount so therefore £8 a month. So I'm getting more Mins, Text & Data (plus 08 numbers & voicemail) for less money than I'm paying now (or 50p more than the original offer).

    So I took this deal.

It sounded like they will offer a 50% loyalty discount off any of their current offers (not sure about 30 days deals), so anyone who is still on this £7.50 deal and is due to renew there are now better offers to be had.

That is an excellent deal chorli. When does ur contract actually finish?

My contact finishes on the 2nd of aug so I'm in the last month now.
    I'm currently getting
    600mins
    500txt
    3gb data
    Unli landline calls

I have been on this for last 2 years started at £5 now paying over £6 with the increase.

I rang them yesterday and they said I could keep the same price plan for £9.85 which I'm not really happy with.

How did u manage to get that deal.
Is the £16 sim only deal a standard deal and they just gave u 50% off

You've done well keeping the Unlimited Landline & 3Gb Data all for £5, that was better than I was getting....

My contract was up on 11th Aug, but can renew 1 month before that date, so you should of been able to do it from the 2nd July. At that Time you could request a PAC, so I guess they offer better deals to keep you.

But from how the guy was talking its a maximum of 50% off any of there current deals, so this one gave me more for about the same money, but there is a £11 deal which gives 500mins, Unlimited Text & 1Gb Date, so I'd guess that would be £5.50; which was close to what I was getting for less money.

I don't understand how one person can be offered something and another something different.

The fact I now get Voicemail and 08 numbers included in the 1000mins means I won't pay over the £8 or have to hunt around for a standard number when having to call a 0845 / 0870 or even 0800.

I rang them again today Chorli trying to get same deal as you and they said no can do. The cheapest they can do it for me is £12, I declined.

They also said as soon as you go over the 3GB data allowance you automatically start getting charged unlike the old plans where you could still surf but not stream.

Keep phoning, different operators seem to offer different deals....

As for the data charge, I was informed that if you go over the 3Gb they send you a text to advice you've reached the limit, if its due mainly because of downloading etc then you'll be charge £1 per day (for a max of 7 days) then it will be cut off until the next month or a package is bought to increase it. If its mainly due to surfing / emails then you may get away with it.
