I signed up to this about Oct 2010 since I thought it was such a good deal at the time (and still is IMHO).

I renewed it in Sept. 2011 keeping the same deal (not 100% sure it was still 3Gb of data), but since I took the deal in 2010 the price has crept up from £7.50 to £8.36.

Anyway the reason I'm posting is I've just had a call from Natalie at T-Mobile 07850-413792. She informed me that I could now renew my 12month SIM Only deal and would I like to renew at the same rate of £13.22.....Now this is the price without the discount & I know my renewal date is 11th Sept 2012 (think I can do it within 30 days of that date, but still mid Aug); so I asked where she was calling from and now she was calling from 'The Mobile Shop or The Mobile Store (something on that line)' and that they are business partners to T-Mobile, I told her I'll call T-Mobile direct and see what they will offer me.....

She got a little narky and told me they will only offer me the same deal and hung up.

So if you're on this deal and you get a cold call from someone claiming to me from T-Mobile asking if you want to Renew, just be on guard and double check everything before agreeing.....

UPDATE: I've just called T-Mobile direct who confirmed my renewal date is the 11th Sept and I can't renew my contract this early (I could change it to either 18/24 month contact, but not renew for another 12 months).

He took the details of who called me and advised it sounds like a 3rd Party Company, so NOT T-Mobile. He advised if they or any other call again to inform them I'm not interested and to call T-Mobile direct in Sept.

Just phone T-Mobile and was advised I could renew today, but they wouldn't match the:

    600 xnet mins
    Unlimited landline
    500 SMS
    3Gb Data

I was told when I renewed last time that I won't get the 3Gb of Data it's there Standard Unlimited Data deal (which has a 500Mb Download limit I think).

    This time I was offered:

    600 xnet mins
    500 SMS
Plus 1 Booster (Unlimited Landline, Unlimited Data, T-Mobile to T-Mobile calls etc)

Wasn't sure what to do since she wasn't budging and told me I shouldn't of got the renewal I did last year, so was going for the 'OK if you won't match I'll leave' when she advised its £7.50, which is what I was paying before the VAT Increase and T-Mobile Price rise the other month.

    So I agreed to:

    600 xnet mins
    Unlimited Data
    500 SMS

I've never gone over the 600 mins even if the Unlimited Landlines were included and I don't use much data, so this is fine for what I need and it's cheaper than I've been paying for the last 12 months.
  • So is 'unlimited data' 3gb?

    So is 'unlimited data' 3gb?

From what I can gather T-Mobile's Unlimited Internet is:

Unlimited Browsing (emailing, surfing the net)

500Mb Download Limit (Watching iPlayer, Downloading Apps, Songs etc) but won't be charged if you go over this however the speed will be cut back.

    Edit:

Also just done a few Speed Tests (since renewing) and still getting around 3.5Mb.
I've had a Text confirming I'm now getting:

Sim Only £15 per month with a £7.50 discount
    600 xnet mins
    500 text
    WNW Booster (Internet)
  • That's crap about the 500mb limit. I DO use over 500mb on songs. Is there no way to keep the 3gb then? Also, if I say nothing will it roll over month by month and keep the old contract?

Yes it will, price is likely to go up if you were given any discounts though.

I signed up for this back in Oct 2010. Everything generally fine until I rang up in early June of this year about a mobile contract I had when I was informed by the csa that my phone contract is due for renewal at the end of June. I was asked if I wanted to renew which I said yes as long as it is on the exactly the same tariff. I was told it would be exactly the same. However a few days after I looked at my online acc and in the current services there were some boxes missing so I rang back. I then asked to confirm what my download allowance was as the web`n walk plus box had gone and she told me it was 500mb. I informed her that it should be 3gb. After discussion I asked for pac and later someone else rang me. I explained the situation in that I was renewing on the same deal and they had changed this. He told me I would get 3gb and I asked if this could be put on my notes to which he said it would. However about 2 weeks after my billing date I received a text saying I had gone over my download allowance. Now fuming I rang up again and explained the situation again and told the max allowance they do on tariffs is 1gb which she agreed to put me on. Still not happy I was informed to send and e-mail to customer services which I did. They rang me about 2 weeks later saying they do not do the 3gb anymore and I should have been informed of this. She suggested I go on to the Full Monty plan from the 18th Aug and she would allow me tethering on this plan at a discount. I had just signed up for the 12 months on the other plan but would make the FM 30 day sim only. I asked her to confirm this in an e-mail to which I have not yet received. Considering that T-Mob are changing their policy on tethering on fm plans I will have to keep an eye on this. At least I have the contact details of the person who agreed this. A word of warning to everyone who thinks they get 3gb then please check...

Too all the posters above just to let u know T-Mobile are talking crap when they say not allowed to renew current deal and keep the 3GB data.

I took out this contract back in mid 2010 was originally paying £10 but because of bad reception and some complaining they knocked another £5 off this. so for the last 2 years incl price rise/vat I have been on the following deal:

    600mins
    500txt
    3GB data
    1 free booster
    all for £5.86 a month

Just renew my current contact 2 weeks ago for another year on exactly the same terms and price. The same girl who renewed my contract last year called me again so she knew exactly what I wanted.

I'm hoping to stay on this contract for rest of my life if possible (its excellent value for money).

Yesterday T-mobile offered me 600 mins, 500 texts,500mb, and flexible booster but put the price up to £10.50 on a 12 month contract. Any good or still hassle them? I have six days to change my mind.
    Thanks
