Do you still have the 1.8Mbps internet, or is it down to the 0.3Mbps that the new customers get?

Interesting question. I have always been able to watch youtube etc so never questioned the speed.

I have just installed the speedtest.net app and the download speed is 0.3 !

I wonder if its always been that speed or if they dropped it without telling me.

i will find out monday and post back. I asked about staying on this amazingly cheap deal for a further 12 months they told me i can.

For me it's ideal as i get unlimited calls to landlines included as well

But ring them before your 1 month notice period just to find out when to renew
never put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow

Hmm, looks like they have dropped your "web n walk" speed - 0.3Mbps is next to unusable, I think you'll find your youtube watching days are over!

I'm not up for renewal til November but I will be getting it in writing from them that my internet speed will stay they same - if they can't do that then giffgaff here I come!

So I'm on the phone now and a CS rep is telling me the speed is related to your handset. I told him nothing has changed apart from my speed and that I wanted to talk to someone in Retention.

He puts me on hold - 15mins into the call the line goes dead!

I called back and asked for retentions. As I renewed yesterday I have 7 days to cancel. Anyway I was put through to someone in 'Premium Service' who was helpful but had not heard of the speed being dropped. They asked me to make a log of sites I visit, at what times and the postcode where I was. They would then call me on Wednesday to discuss.

Just phone up (150 from your handset Options 2 then 1), straight through no wait.

He ask if I wanted to renew it for another 12 months on the same terms, asked if he could do it for less....he laughed and said not this deal.

I didn't ask if there was a deal for less, because I wanted this one, so just renewed it; he said everything will stay the same and it will just roll on for another 12 months (from today).

Just done a speed test and I got 1896kbps download and 292kbps upload, let's hope that stays the same.
  • Chorlie, where are you and what handset are you using please?

I'm in Leeds and use an Orange San Francisco
  • T-Mobile customer services don't really understand the differences between 3G and HSDPA though. Even their technical support team have problems understanding.

Does your phone display H when it's connected or just 3G?

    "H"

Tried the phone with my daughters Giff Gaff sim and the speed was 2.8mb (awesome)
Stuck the T-Mobile sim back in and its down to 0.3mb

No further evidence needed - I am going to cancel and go to Giff Gaff!
  • So I am assuming that everybody is managing to renew with the 600min + 500txt + internet ( now possibly limited) & then the extra "bolt on" ?
In which case as I had the "unlimited landline calls " as my bolt on could I switch that to the "unlimited internet" bolt on & then have the speed back as well ?
I never use more than 200 minutes in a month for mobile calls so could easilly lose the landline calls bolt on .
