Any positive experiences switching to EDF energy??

The contract tracker on the electricity supply moved on to "supply is now live" a few days ago, (when does the tracker disappear and what replaces it?)
Today I received my final electric bill from SP, no problems, they had used the reading I gave to EDF on 31 Aug and they owe me nearly £150:j.
Gas is still progressing, gave the reading 8 sep, tracker not showing "gone live yet"
So far the experience has been positive.0 -
calling to ask why DD hasnt been taken - things must be bad - not even any hold music0

Well let me explain what happened when I tried. Today I received an estimated bill with "today's" account balance and including daily usage charges up to "today". The "estimated" readings were over 3 weeks old.:( The revised balance did not amend the DD. Against my better judgement and advice (but mainly because I couldn't resist probing the system) I entered customer reads. This produced either a pop-up or a link (forgotton already) to a "preview statement" with the numbers (correct I think) and promising that "a detailed view will be posted to me".
The preview statement did not address any DD variation.
Neither did the MyAccount balance "auto-refresh", though the MyAccount balance did update when manually refreshed, at which point (fortuitously) I noticed the Direct Debit had been increased:(
At which point I phoned to insist on either a detailed calculation or reinstatement of the previous DD. Edf chose to reinstate the previous DD.:)0 -
awesome love you edf - changed DD on 31st august , automatically got cancelled , not the first time - need to speak to DD team next week or so about it - made a complaint that were now building up a debit cause DD arnt being taken - and the new system doesnt want to take a card payment over the phone because i have a 3 year old account starting 77.... awesome...
oh yeah - 20 mins on hold , and the lovely lady couldnt tell me why i have never been able to access my account online in 3 years , or why the meter change in march 2009 isnt on record , or why it took 5 months to change me from standard (march 2009) to eco 2020 ( august 2009) when the 2nd meter change happened due to a faulty meter.....0 -
47 mins on hold and counting. Is this a record?0

The electricity part of the Contract Tracker has disappeared today.
System was shut down over the weekend for maintenance. :rotfl:
Process now in reverse. Could end up with Scottish Power shortly.:D
Please advise Mr.Huhne.0 -

A question to those who have gone through this switching lark, when does the Contract tracker disappear and what does the opening page look like?
Cooking Mama, what is your situation at the moment?0 -

I signed up on 21/4. Cooling off was until 3/5 and that went as planned.
My contract tracker page disappeared around 3/6 although I had problems entering readings and it didn't accept any until 6/6.
Before it disappeared, the tracker page said my electrcity switched over on 21/4/11, which was wrong as it wasn't until later in May. It also said my gas switched over on 11//2/21/0, but their computer system was clearly in another galaxy by then.;)
When it does disappear, you get a screen showing your current balance as of your last bill, plus any DD's they may have taken since then, assuming they manage to set them up correctly of course.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
