Any positive experiences switching to EDF energy??

Tempted to have some fun with the "functionality", but no. Going to sit tight as long as possible. My previous complaint was not that I had been "reviewed" but the "review" made no calculated sense. Not convinced that issue is yet addressed.
The fun element appealed to me too. I nearly sent an email from an address not linked with my account asking them to confirm if the earth really is flat, but thought better of it! Rang EDF this morning at 11.15, on hold for 12 minutes, not bad;).
Reason for call, Electricity changed over on 31 Aug following email and message informing me of date and to submit meter reading.
No such message for the gas account so rang them. they confirmed date is sep 8 and offered to take a meter reading there and then as he said meter reading could be submitted between 5 days before go live and 5 days after. I declined and said I will submit on 8th.

Well,thats the gas meter reading posted...The online My Account states my gas supply started yesterday...(still havent received anything in the post from EDF asking for a gas meter reading tho,)will wait and see what happens now,first DD due off around the 16th Sept,and both electric and gas are showing as closed accounts on british gas website...(.Electricity DD was due today for british gas electricity,will have to check with bank to see if that amount has been taken .)
PS,I didnt give British gas any closing meter reads(tho i have kept a record of them),im assuming EDF will have forwarded on my readings to BG.?Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

You did right, just keep a record for yourself. Like you my contract status shows that my gas account started yesterday, despite receiving an email saying it would start today. Likewise my electricity account started 2 days before they told me it would and when I submitted the reading.
Also I have had no contact with Scottish power (apart from a phone call and letter begging me to stay) I will let EDF give them the readings.

I've switched to EDF -electric on 16 Aug, gas on 25 Aug with no real problem. Only thing is I expected to get the final bills from Scottish Power by now.0

To those who switched to EDF recently: how long did it take for the whole process? I applied on Aug 4 but, bar the confirmation through the post, have yet to hear anything from them. I am hoping to have it completed before Sep 16 when my current provider raises price. It is now seems unlikely:-(Mark Hughes' blue and white army0

Switches typically take from 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
However if you have not received a "confirm your email address" email something might not be right. I would suggest phoning. Last time I tried, weekday am call wait times were reducing.0 -

Have you created an online account? If so you should see the Contract status which progresses through the various stages. Also they send messages to that account although they also duplicate them by email.
I presume on the initial confirmation letter they told you your account numbers?
Like jalexa states, there could be something wrong. Ring them, the waiting times do not seem too bad now.0
