Lied to Jobseekers
Comments

The closing date for applications was after I returned and if indeed I had of been "desperately" seeking work I'm sure that I could have found another job to apply for in order to meet the requirements.
The point is that it can be possible to be "actively seeking work" whilst out of the country.
It can be possible, but why !!!!!!!! and pretend that anyone does that?Per Mare Per Terram0 -

It is obvious that online job searches can be done where ever there is a wifi connection etc.
Presumably applications completed in previous weeks could result in you being called for an interview at short notice (lets say the day before), how exactly would you attend this interview if you are in another country?0 -

You could apply the same logic to Holidays taken in the uk -you could be called to interview at short notice and it wouldn't always be possible to get back home at short notice.
I could, if needed get back home from spain quicker(and cheaper) than from I could from scotland.0 -

Probably, presuming there is a spare seat on that plane but let's face it, not a cat in hells chance if not:rotfl:0 -

Don't be silly dear, you could jump on a train, bus, plane, or drive to get back from Scotland, bit more difficult getting back from Spain if there are no seats on a flight...0 -

Apart from no seats, even if there is a seat, you may be charged quite a lot of money by changing the day and time of your flight home.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
they effectively are because they expected people would take most if not all allowed sick days, it wasnt frowned upon to take sick days. people didnt lose money for being off sick. all they do is phone in and for your information when i was on new deal i did not take one single sick day even though i could have.Bogof_Babe wrote: »That says it all to me. do you think people are jobsearching if they are on holiday in the uk? the rules of jsa require people to have done a certain amount of jobsearch during the past fortnight. it doesnt have to have been spread throughout the fortnight. if they are super fast and get it all done in one afternoon then that is ok as far as the rules are concerned. you are showing signs of not liking rules were people gain and liking rules were they lose.soothyerboots wrote: »Pipe down. Damn right the money should be stopped if that person broke the rules. If you are on holiday abroad, you aren't job searching, and therefore aren't fulfilling the terms required to have JSA. It is THAT simple.0 -

Which take a long time to get to the UK, depending. When I get postcards from people, they usually arrive after they are home :rotfl:“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0
