yes but if you got called to an interview at a days notice would you have been able to go? NO.
I don't see what the big issue is here, nobody says people on JSA shouldn't have holidays, you just can't expect to get paid for the time your abroad, seems fair enough to me, you don't like the rules then don't claim if it offends you so much!0 -

like I said before, those are the rules and when you claim JSA you are agreeing to those rules, don't like them, then don't claim simple as that...0 -
I presume you were abroad. JSA requirements are three job applications, and you have to go to interviews. So, if you applied Monday, were then called for an interview two days later, you would not have been able to attend.0

Instead of being bored ***less, they should take up some voluntary work, as long as any voluntary work done is inline within the JSA rules.
Walking, jogging, reading, etc costs nothing if a person is fit and able - there is no reason for people to be bored.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -

It's only the people who don't really want to work (like you) who sit round doing nothing all the time. Those that are keen to work do voluntary work, take courses and spend their time actively job seeking. That's why people who do this are rarely long term unemployed.0 -
Don't be silly dear, you could jump on a train, bus, plane, or drive to get back from Scotland, bit more difficult getting back from Spain if there are no seats on a flight...
I travel quite extensivly and have had no problem getting back to the uk at short notice - even on a flight last week which is peak season there were still seveal spare seats and incidently I could travel back from spain tomorrow for £97 ( two available flights but it would cost £122 to get back from inverness and there is only one train)0 -
It can be possible, but why !!!!!!!! and pretend that anyone does that?0

I imagine the logic is that you could come back to your home area for an interview if on holiday in the UK which is rather more difficult if abroad.
