I'm simply pointing out that there is a difference in the materials used, and that I think the materials used in one device are superior to those used in another. It's a valid point and one that anyone should consider when deciding what device to buy.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion everyone is. Attempting to pass opinion as fact is another matter.

The only fact is that samsung use different materials to apple. Theres nothing actually wrong with the build quality or materials used, other than in your opinion.

Yep, and likewise. The OP is seeking opinions on which phone to get. I was offering an opinion on the materials and build quality.

The Arc is meant to be the best Sony Ericsson out there at the moment.

Certainly for £30-35 you can get a good contract on the Samsung Galaxy without paying much upfront too.

I got my mum the arc, and although I like it, my OH has the Sony Experia and they're too similar, plus I imagine I'd end up with his Experia and he'd get the arc, sooner or later.

I had a play about with the Galaxy today and I did quite like it, it's a big phone but thin enough, just something I wasn't that into but I can't put my finger on what.

I've found an oooold phone in the back of the cupboard so I have a back up for my very sick phone if it decides to leave me any time soon.

In that case I would be inclined to hold on to it, for now at least. Wait until the iPhone 5 comes out because you never know what that is going to do to the price of the iPhone 4. On top of that, it gives you a bit more of an opportunity to consider your options.

    Please also see my PM.

After trying to eBay my SGS2 would you believe my almost new SGS2 32GB doesn't make as much as an old 16GB iPhone 4, so i'm stuck I guess, maybe the iPhone 4 price will drop when the iPhone 5 is released, My SGS2 got £320 -£30 eBay fees = £290, an iPhone 4 £340-£350, luckily the winner was a messer.

And there you are attempting to pass off your opinion as fact.

Not at all, there is nothing wrong with its build quality. It just uses different materials.

What exacting is wrong with plastic???

If you can have better, why settle for plastic?

    Better for what???

My opinion on the matter is that glass is a stupid idea to have in a phone, and every iphone user whose dropped their iphone would agree, very fragile. Hang on maybe thats just what apple was hoping for, then they could charge stupid prices for a fix.

Better feel in the hand; the iPhone looks and feels like a premium device. I've dropped my iPhone plenty of times and it remains unscathed :)
