"We are doubling the speed on our Silver broadband package to 2Mb from 15th Jan 07, the price stays the same at £14.99. We will continue to offer 1 month free (if ordered online), plus a FREE wireless router worth £55"

The new Compare Our Packages table on their own site only states a free modem for the £14.99 deal, not a free wireless router, so check what you are getting. Also still shows £29.99 for Platinum not the £24.99 mentioned earlier.

Ignore that table if you are a old customer, you can get platinum for £17.99 if you ask but might take a few attempts and silver for £9.99

Am I correct in thinking that I can cancel my contract with AOL without penalty because they are changing the contract?

I really want to get away from them if I can.

Any suggestions for a new isp? Tiscali looks quite good offering upto 8Mbs for £17.99

Yes you can move without penality and have to the end of Jan to do so.

Not sure why you would leave Aol to go to Tiscali tho as they get very bad reviews and a few complaints on here

  • Has anyone had problems with AOL lately ? We keep getting bumped offline. It seems like its during busy times e.g. Early evening and the weekends. I called them and they deny all knowledge !! If it keeps happening i will be tempted to move on but do you lose internet for a week like you used to before when you migrate ? Anyone know ?
If you want to get ahead in the Rat Race then you will need some faster Rats !!

It does, but persistance pays off. I got mine for £9.99 by trying for a couple of months.
