Yes, that makes sense. Essentially, the figures are misleading because they don't correct for the population in the area. That is made moire difficult because, to be meaningful, the figures need to take into account the average population during the day, not just the resident population. Probably with an adjustment for whether people are asleep or awake. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
The raw figures may be misleading but there are also per 100,000 figures showing too.0

I can find some neighbourhood ones per 1000. Are those the ones you meant? Or ...?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Hi Everyone 1st time post of a long time stalker here!
Just like to say that house is lovely and if I had the chance to purchase such a house I'd do it!
I'm having trouble getting this house out of my head.. rightmove property 19224435, (I'm unable to post links) It's round corner from a family members house, was origanlly a hall with a dirt floor and got condemed in the 60's for someone to buy it and seperate into 4 bunglows. I think knowing I will never afford it has helped and the mortage will be around the 1,600 a mth mark and a 70k deposit will be required. Thats if my maths is correct!!
Still hard to forget thoughAspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -
It looks lovely but is it near princes quay,i worked there and it was full of drunks, druggies and scroats.0

I put up the steel for princess quay many years agoIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

Yes, but in the case of central London, there are millions of people here during the day (working in the city, tourists, etc) but the resident population is quite low. So the figure per 100,000 residents makes the area look more dangerous than it is....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
