    Cripes!
This week I am hoping that the full electrical rewire/repair report/estimate and the roofing/damp quote will be sufficient when taken together with the full RICS building survey (yes, all 46 pages) for the mortgage company to finally agree to lending me the funds required.
    Fingers crossed!

Today was the first day I didn't call the building society because they *promised* to call me with an update...
    No call...

I went to uni in Hull and lived on the street behind in Park Ave. If I was ever going to live in Hull again (unlikely - no offence!) it would be on these streets again. Lovely area and stunning houses. Fabulous back gardens too which is rare for big terraces.
I wouldn't put you off. If you are going ot live in Central Hull, this area is the only place to buy a house.
I'll have some cheese please, bob.
  • I've just read this entire thread.
    How very exciting :)

And in years to come, you can tell the kids that you bought this house because a bunch of people on the internet told you to!

Lovely house :) Lived not far from there all my life lol.
Hull isn't half as bad as people make it out to be..but the location of the house is in one of the better areas :)

Its okay if you've been brought up there. As an outsider coming in, it can be a real culture shock. That said, I made many 'local' friends whilst there as a student through the party / h a s h circuit and found you lot to be the friendliest of anywhere I've ever lived. Made some good marras in Hull, fond memories.

    Absolutely hated the place though!

Congratulations ! I will have ridden my bike past that house countless times on my way to school and then work. We lived in Westbourne Ave West.
You have got yourself an abosolute gem.

The Avenues area of Hull is probably the best part of the city. My mother owned an hotel on Park Avenue and I used to cycle every day to work at the Biochemistry Department of the University of Hull.

Congrats Oog! I think it's really funny that the subject of this thread is 'Help me remove this house from my head' and you end up buying it!!
