Have I got it? Or is it not like this at all, and I'm just telling a fairy story?

Flesh it out a bit more and send it to Mills and Boon, it's a winner ;)
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

    I don't think so.

This story is as old as the hills.

Affairs have been going on for centuries and always will.

purple you are out of order but its your life .

secondly this guy needs to get a grip. he sounds like he is getting something out of this which is neither on a sexual level or a relationship level as if he feels like he has missed his youth and trying to re;ive it now(thrill of the chase). HE would never leave his wife for you so kick him in to toyuch and move on.

i also believe that a good course of antidepressants may be beneficial to him.

sorry about the spelling daughter spilt coke on keyboard keys are jamming.

If something is terribly wrong in your relationship the answer is not to cheat, its to try and fix it or to leave.
I'm very strongly offended by the idea that a wife can be to blame for her husband cheating.

    And me.

Of course we go into relationships on the understanding that we'll be faithful, but things change. People change. Circumstances change.

Would you be happy when marrying the love of your life for him promise to keep only unto you so long as he doesn't change???

I do not need other people to tell me wrong from right.

I do not steal/murder/lie or cheat because of what other people will think of me, I only care what I think of me.

I was making no comment on you, I was commenting on society and whatever you personally may say about how others' opinions of you are irrelevant, people in general tend to behave in a way that society approves of.

nickyhutch an intelligent person such as yourself will be aware that it is impossible to get decent research/statistics on sexual relationships - people lie about them ;)

I know they do. Which is why no-one can say "people who cheat usually go on to cheat again". We only know what we've experienced and seen close to us. In my case, it didn't happen first time round and hasn't happened second time round.

Then really there should be no such thing as divorce than?

I appreciate that you were not commenting on me personally.

I suppose the point I was trying to make is that each individual has to decide for themselves what they believe to be right and wrong and base their own decisions on that. I don't believe a fear of what society proclaims to be acceptable really stops people from doing wrong things - perhaps they are just not so open about it.

After all even when abortion, for example, was illegal it did not stop people from having them and as far as I can see even though affairs have been frowned upon for many many years it did not stop them going on or do you think there are more affairs going on now?
  • True, even when abortion was illegal, women went to back street abortionists.

While there are cheap women who can't get a man of their own - there will always be affairs.

Let's not be derogatory and sexist. I hope you also mean cheap men who can't get a woman of their own either, keep affairs alive too.

From a psychological point of view, I don't agree with that comment though. I think affairs are immoral as opposed to being cheap, and I also don't think they have anything to do with people not being able to get a partner of their own. That's probably too simplistic for most situations. Sometimes people are attracted to those already in a relationship and sometimes those who are attached mislead people into believing they are single, amongst other scenarios.

I just think affairs are wrong. And any blame lies solely with the married party, regardless of the state of the marriage.
