It's one thing an adult child saying their mum was bonkers...you kind of have the right...but quite another the OW saying it.

    Thank You.

Some would argue that I should not be saying it,even about my own mother, as some hold their mother up as some kind of saint no matter what they do.

Yes we children can turn out all right(well I like to think so!)

I had two of them! And I've been told that I've turned out as a very well adjusted person (by an old boss who knew what I'd been through, btw, not blowing my own trumpet, well, maybe just a bit:)).

So yes, we can turn out alright!

I wouldn't, not if you realise that their behaviour isn't 'normal', and helps you to grow into the person that you want to be by not repeating theirs. I am getting there, but it's been hard work to eradicate the unwanted learned behaviour and personality traits.

At the time, I thought everyone's parents were like that, now I know different. You cope with it and move on, as you have done. There are things that my parents have said or done that I will never forgive either of them for, but this thread would go completely off topic!

Just trying to show that the collateral damage from affairs/divorce can have an effect decades later:o:(.

No I don't think so, we have just gone off on a tangent, thats all, as invariably happens on most threads.

I actually know far more people who have been affected by their parents divorcing than their parents rowing

Whilst I'm sure that may be your friends' experiences, research suggests otherwise:

ETA apologies if this comes across as rude, it isn't meant that way. I am still a work in progress!
