Looks like ally18 had second thoughts and deleted her post.
I did read it, and it did end badly for her as she had believed her married lover when he promised her the world for several years, yet somehow things changed and he decided to stay with his wife, who appeared to be rubbing her nose in it.
Sorry PTN, not exactly parallel to your situation as they had both left their respective partners fairly early on, but it was a harsh reality check on how these things can turn out. I think you have your eyes more wide open than ally18 did though, and she was very young when she became involved with this colleague at work who pursued her relentlessly until he wore her resistance down.
It was a sobering lesson about the pitfalls of following your heart into this sort of territory though.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Can I also add to the op that having an affair will ALWAYS result in a minimum of one person being hurt and it will be the 'mistress'.
had started leaving me messages on fb as to what they were doing. She was going to sit back and 'gloat' was the term used.
I was heartbroken, emotionally unstable, stupid, worthless, . I am left with the thought that he and his wife are laughing at me,

I know the quote is away now, but to the person who wrote it.......
-This is exactly how you were going to let the wife feel , if you had got your way - Cant you see that?.0 -
Cheapskate - I doubt she cared about anyone other than herself.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

I didn't see the post, but why would you say that?0 -
The pain she was willing to put the wife through. No worries though, as long as she gets her end awayI'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Oh please. Grow up.
Rephrase that: How about the pain HE was willing to put his wife through....0 -
I never said he was innocent either.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Well thats not what you inferred to.
Anyway, I think you have made yourself clear now
But the fact is PTN has so many people judging her and giving their opinions, when the truth can only be understood from her and her lover. Yes we all have opinions, yes they are all valid in some way or other. But do they help her. No.
As to your answer PTN. Can an affair have a happy ending. It all depends in which context you see it. And that is it. No analytical views, no opinions. It is down to all involved. Thats all. Yes she has come on here for opinions, and goodness has she received them. But we have all walked in different shoes, so we all have different opinions, neither right nor wrong. Our views. At the end of all this, PTN should make her own decisions as to whether her life is more fulfilled with this man, or without this man. The rest (as they as say) is history.0 -

That's actually not very nice and not helpful to the original poster. When I first started reading this post, I thought it woul degenerate into the usual kind of thing with this sort of posting but it didn't.....until this post.
Every single situation is different and I think that the OP has shown that she is very open to whatever anyone says to her but I think that as much as your post is valid as you have obviously gone through something similar, why not add some real detail and advice rather than the kind of comment you have left.
Not having a go but I think as you have obviously gone through something like this, you will have some very valid points to put across.0
