The wife always wins unless she doesn't want to

Not always, there is a growing number of "wives" whose "husbands" has used power and position (not always financial) to "win" as you call it....but as ever the kids are the biggest losers

So little? Someone like me? I don't know what you mean by that. I'm faltering too.

I don't understand why you think I've "settled". I'm very happy, and I was first time round. They certainly weren't loaded; first husband had (has) a good job but worked all the hours god sends for it. My now OH earns less than me, which is bu99er all :) I'm a bit cross that you think I'd be attracted to someone based on what they earn.

I'm honestly not second best - on the contrary, they chose me. I'm NOT gloating there, haters - just pointing out that I'm not second best.

I see you as second best.

Thats not a moral judgement or anything. It is just how it is.

    I am likely wrong

You absolutely are. Second best to what/who, exactly? Who's ahead of me?

The OP wouldn't know, but the odds are in favour of at least some token affectionism between them.

Even in the height of my OH's obsession with OW he was still acting loving towards me. It probably WAS an act at that stage, but he wasn't going to give the game away by cold-shouldering me, was he?

That may well be the case, but the bottom line is we do not know, do we?

He may tell his wife he loves her but they may not have that kind of relationship and they might never exchange such declarations of love.

So to make a statement that he does this and means it as a fact is wrong IMO.

And since he's a betraying lying rat he's hardly likely to tell his bit on the side the truth about his feelings towards his wife no matter what they are. He'll tell her exactly what she wants to hear.

There's an unnecessary apostrophe in there. Oh, and an unnecessary dig, too. Goodness you're bitter. I wont say the obvious, but I'm thinking it.

Maybe he will and maybe he will not.

Coming from a serial adulterer I'll take that as a compliment.
