Samsung Galaxy Apollo help

Hi
My partner has the same phone with the problems plus more problems .
He is good at techno bits and has found out the processer on the phone isn't fast enough to support the actions of the phone. I.E using some apps and even swiping through the screens/menus.
I'm afraid their is no way to fix this, its just like using a computer with a slow processer and trying to run to mayn things at once. It just can't cope!
If anyone else finds a fix I to would be really greatful so I can let a grumpy partner know!!
Take Care.

Hi,
The processor in the phone is powerful enough, Samsung did not do the best job on this phone unfortunately and it has many bugs.
From the sounds of it your phone is in need of a Factory Reset, I suggest taking it to Carphone Warehouse (dont worry if you didn't buy it from there) they are Samung approved and should be able to factory rest it, and also ask them to upgrade your phone to the latest software (should be Android 2.3.3 this will help).
Hope this helps.0 -
Factory reset from within the phone .Wipes all data .
dial
*#*#7780#*#*
or
*276783855#
or from phone settings
usual reason for those messages user apps or corrupted settings .not the processor at all .
Early versions of phone firmware was a bit laggy but been updated a number of times by Samsung since release .
Connect phone to Kies check update .

Hi Katie,
You can point your partner towards this app:
RyanZA's OCLF (Search in the Android Market)
The problem with the Samsung Galaxy S is Samsung made some very bad decisions when coding their software (they have since learnt and the SGS2 is brilliant).
The main problem with the Galaxy S is a severe lag when trying to use certain apps / functions on the phone.
The app I have linked to will greatly improve this, however it requires root access to the phone and will void any warranty.
My wife had one of these phones and we ended up selling it as it drove her round the bend, you could also try complaining to your service provider but I doubt you will get anywhere unfortunately.0 -

As some of you know I've had a Galaxy S now for a few weeks and I'm feeling a little unimpressed with it, I don't think I'm getting the full use out of it probably due to being a technophone!
Some of the things I'd like help with are where can I get music from for the phone, the cheaper the better lol, and I'm also a little confused about where things are stored on the phone i.e. music photos etc, do they automatically store to the internal SD card? What happens when I want to change my phone (it's not going to be for a while yet but I don't want to end up with all my stuff stuck on this phone IYSWIM).
Also, can someone tell me what Kies is, what it's used for etc as I keep reading that I should have it but not sure what it is to be honest, I've googled and can't make head or tail of itSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Its samsungs poor offering of itunes. you need to download it to your pc to sync your phone add music etc.0

Kies is (as ^^ says) Samsung's poor offering, but not just of iTunes - it's the backup/management software for your PC to work with your phone.
I have to say, I'm not a fan of it, although I have installed it. I generally use Windows Explorer instead to transfer music & photos to and from the SD card.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
