Bread is my vice .. can sit and eat slice after slice ... bit of a rhyme going on there lol! Also portion control having been brought up with 'you dont leave the table unless your plate is cleared' Its a challenge now if Ive opened a pack of biscuits or something to stop myself from automatically trying to finish the whole thing! Should be a good day today though and another few hours in the garden weeding (and adding to the blisters
) hope everyone has a good day today

LC!!!!! Where have you been honey bunch?! It's been like a week, I've missed you!!
Missed you too honey, it's been somewhat hellish in the real world for me recently, but hey ho, things can only get better right?! I literally wasn't on this site at all last week, just never got time unfortunately, but i'm aiming to come on every day this week, even if just for a quick update... we'll see as technically I'll have just as little time as last week!Numbers sound great btw I'll do that in a min!
Cool, can I please be an odd number, i'm quite OCD about this!!!:rotfl:Shh yer face about the wobbly bits, I'm sure they're not that bad. Plus even if they are even a smidgen wobbly you're doing the right thing!
They really are that bad, I'm not one to "big things up", I just don't like to pretend I'm smaller than I am! I'm actually wondering right now what the hell I'm gonna wear for the rest of the summer as nothing fits and everything makes me look even bigger than I already am! Not good for fashion but was thinking I might try and get some XL polo shirts - really cheapy ones - to tide me over. I haven't got any money to go and buy nice clothes, I don't really want to wear big baggy polo shirts all the time but at least i'll be covered up. It's not like I can go out much atm as no money! dunno, I may be able to survive without having to do that. Everything I do at the mo is catapulting me more into the realms of slobdom!I know you track your cals on your app but does it tell you how many you should be eating to lose weight? Mine is 1400 as I said I have a sedementary lifestyle, much like a ultra white snail (haven't had a tan in years!) might be worth looking into if you haven't already?
Yep, mine's about 1400 too, it does seem to be the recommended amount generally for people with a lot to lose, I've seen it again and again over the years. However for me to lose 7 pounds by the end of July I need to be on around 1200-1300. I can do this, I've lived on a lot less, just not for ages so am out of the habit! So people, today's question is.... What's your vice? What do you really struggle to resist? Sweet or savoury?
Chocolate. 100%. Cadbury's, Hotel Chocolat, Ice Cream, Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Mousse. CHOCOLATE.
Love it.
Mine in chocolate and ice cubes, but ice cubes only damage your teeth not your waist line! I have proper cravings for chocolate though
ha ha ice cubes, that's so funny :rotfl:
At least they are calorie free!!!
Mmmmmmmm... chocolate...... :A

Today I plan to eat:
Toast with butter and Marmite for breakfast (bad butter but sooo yummy)
Fat free Activia with soft fruits for lunch - mango, nectarine, plum and cherries and banana maybe
Soup or feta salad for tea
If we go to Starbucks I will have my usual of Venti 3 shot skimmed latte...mmm caffeine I love you...
I also have cups of coffee - normally 3 or 4, and I ALWAYS use skimmed milk. I hate milk actually! Unless it's skimmed. And in coffee. Or porridge

My vice is FOOD! if there is fresh bread in the house, then I will keep going back to it, chocolate is another, when I get started I just keep going, especially if there is any in the house. Multipacks of crisps don't last long as once I get the taste for them I keep on going. Then I go through takeaway stages when I think of a chinese or McD's and that is all I can think about. Luckily I only crave one of these at a time.
But my one big vice is wine. Me and OH got into a habit of drinking everyday, and I'm not talking one or two glasses each, it was one or more often than not two bottles a night. I realised it was getting a bit out of control when the bottle was being opened earlier and ealier and when OH got home about 6 I could already be on my second or third glassBut that was when I felt completely out of control in all aspects of life, especiall money. So now that everything is more conrolled we have cut right back and are trying to stick to having it at the weekend only, not quite made it yet, but much much better.
Started today with a walk to do the recycling with OH which took a total of 50mins, it was really nice to not have the kids around and just talk, especially as the sun was shining. Got back and after a couple of pieces of toast did my new dvd - Mr Motivator BLT. You can pick to either do the whole thing or just a few routines - there are 9 in total so I did a couple of the 10 min routines plus a warm up and cool down. One routine was upper body and it killed me - I always struggle with upper body work outs but if I keep going it will get better.
Just went across the road to the park for a picnic with the kids and it was lovely, really relaxed and then played ball for a bit - normally i would just sit and watch, but I actually joined in today and enjoyed it. Back home now as it is very hot in the sun and I don't want to burn and need the kids to do their homework, but having a bbq later. The food choices may not have been the best today, btu I have eaten less than normal and done a lot more exercise so hopefully its been a good balance.
Hope everyone is having a good sunday.

I have been out for a walk early this morning. The clock in my bedroom had stopped working last night and I thought I got up late. I went downstairs to check the time and it was only 5:45 am. I couldn't go back to sleep so thought I would go for a walk instead.
My vice is sweets, chocolate, cakes, biscuits and all things you shouldn't eat. I haven't had any of these for a few days, not sure how long it will last for.
I am on a few strict diet plan and I have not cheated yet. I did want to eat the kids sweets but I have sent myself to my bedroom with water instead;)
rdchick- I had a phase a few years back with eating lots of ice, I was addicted to it. This then moved on to fox's mints and then softmints. I would eat bags and bags of the stuff. I just thought it was a craving. I found out that my iron was very low and had to go on iron tablets, this didn't really help as I was still eating loads. It turns out that I had fibroids. I had put on loads of weight at the time and people just thought I was a greedy pig, but as the fibroids grew so did my stomach. Anyway, I had the fibroids removed and I haven't touched ice or any kind of mints since. That was 2 years ago now. It might be nothing but please consider getting your iron level checked. I don't want you to think I am being bossy or anything but I would hate for anyone to go through what I went through. I wish someone had told me about the ice and mint thing it would have saved me so much trouble and heartache.

I think one of my main problems however is portion control. I can cook up a lovely healthy HM meal, then eat enough of it for 2 people! I like to look for recipes on the internet etc. Most recipes give quantities for 4 people. There's only me and OH, so I make it as stated in the recipe then dish it out between the 2 of us oops!
Right thats all from me. I'm off to wake up the OH. We are going up to Dartmoor today for a lovely, brisk walk/hike. The weather is currently gorgeous!:D Have a lovely, light day everyone!
Portion control is (yet another of) my issues too.
Dartmoor - you must be somewhere round about me then?? I'm in Torbay. I love Dartmoor, take the dog up quite a bit.
Think I've done ok today. Been to work so earned some £££ and only had water and carrot batons to eat so shouldn't have increased lb lb lb. Had left over roast beef in tortilla wrap and home made cole slaw. According to ye olde calorie counter, I've still got 200 cals left for the day (I had a big brekkie and full fat mayo on the coleslaw)0 -

Heya!
I've read it could be a sign of iron deficiency, I will get myself down to the docs, think I need a full mot of my health tbh there's loads of stuff that's not quite right!
I don't think you're bossy! It's just advice and you've been there so more than right to air your concerns!

Me and Billy the kitten and dead after a huge dinner! Me and the bf went to the harvester, which is amazing as it has the calorie amount of everything so I chose the chicken for 670calsso I am fulled up!!
Went to my mum and dads, mum is struggling with the diet thing, she even checked my food diary as she thought I was cheating!!

Morning everyone :j
I've done my meal plan for the week so am off shopping for it this morning, the meals aren't always particularly weight busting, (i.e curry and naan :rotfl:) but my plan is to cut out on my snacks, my viceS are chocolate, WINE, chocolate, crisps, sweets (whatever is in the kids cupboard) oh and more chocolateam obsessed with it .....oh and also fizzy drinks!!!
So as i started on the diet wagon a couple of weeks ago, i had fun finishing it alland then i just refused to buy it. Kids asked for a couple of days but then gave in to the apples & bananas
. DS who is 12 is off school for summer now though so i am taking him shopping today and dread the arguments over the sweets. I will let him have some but he has to keep it in his room :rotfl:out of sight out of mind!
I don't eat chips or pizzas really anyway they really are rare as i have IBS and they seem to be set off particularly by these (suppose that is a good thing!)
I've also swapped normal tea for peppermint & green tea with lemon!
And friends that i have spoken to are adamant that i have to start exercising properly (damned i'm not an exercise fan) so i will build this up gradually with dvd's and wii games (never have babysitter to go out and do things) but anyways enough rambling from moi
I hope you all have a healthy happy Monday :cool:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
