    Hi Everyone:wave:

Could I join your challenge. I am only in one at the moment and need something to keep me going.

I have already started on my diet last week and have lost 3lbs, so now I am 9st 10lbs. I would like to lose the 10lbs this month. I know it might not sound a lot but I am under 5ft so it looks a lot on me.

The kids and I have been getting up in the morning and bike riding before school. I don't have a bike so I have to run. I can't run to save my life, I get out of breath within a minute. I would love to be a much fitter person.

Anyway, I pledge to lose 10lbs and save £150 for July.

    Good luck everyone:D

    Hello everyone,

I will add you to the first post in the morning as it's hard to copy and paste properly on the iPad but of course you are totally all welcome, doesn't matter what size you start with!!

I need to lose about 3.5/4 stone. I secretly weighed myself this morning before the shred and I have lost 1lb already! I started the boots diet yesterday (my mums idea, she has about 2stone to lose so I actually really want to beat her!)

Today I have had a rather MSE day, went shopping with my friend for a dress, found a gorgeous maxi dress for 9quid in the new look sale, got the full outfit including shoes for under £25, I actually budgeted for today a whole £100  but spent about £60 if that (need to check) including a night out at the bingo again, won nout lol

Done over 615 calories burnt and 1400 calories eaten (my recommended amount) we shall see how we get on on Friday!

Keep going everyone, remember tomorrow is a new day and it's not all over yet!

    Love and hugs
    Xxx

    I'm finally here!

Have just read the whole thread and it's lovely to see how many people liked the idea :j
rdchick I'd still like to assign challenge member numbers though...if you feel so inclined ;)

Ok, my goal for this month is 7 pounds of weight to lose. I'm on a DMP so standard amount off debts every month, and actually I've already paid it, which is £476.

I weigh on a Friday morning for those of you who don't know me, and my current weight is 209.9, sod it lets say 210 haha! By the way this is 15 stone. I've fluctuated over the years, 18 and a half stone at my highest, and 11 stone 10 at my lowest. I'm 5'6" and 27 years old.

Currently I look like a large beige slug, and I feel like one too. My stomach, arms and legs wobble for hours after I stop moving, my face is round again which is upsetting, and the rolls of fat all over me are quite frankly, repulsive. I loathe how I look and how I feel about myself at the moment.

Because of this of course, I eat.

    My current "excuses" are:

    1. Work - stressful and very long hours, which means no time to prepare foods in evenings etc so end up buying stuff or snacking on rubbish and then for tea I get stuck as well. UNLESS I do my batch cooking on the weekend, which luckily now I have a few meals built up to last me this week at least!!

    2. My knee - I woke up on 1 March in agony and it's not been right since. 3 GP visits, 1 X-Ray, 1 Blood Test, some extra strength prescribed Ibuprofen and 1 trip to the NHS physio (which is why this has dragged on so long - had a 14 week wait where nothing happened) later, they still haven't diagnosed me. Repeat visit to physio on 12 July. However, this is stopping me doing my usual walking as I have a bit of a limp due to the knee, so then my hip starts aching, and my back - it's like a knock on effect. And then the knee is worse the next day. So have been doing nothing.

The above are the only two "valid" reasons I have for being fat at the moment. Invalid ones are for example my current eating habits. e.g. today I have had:
2 pieces of multigrain toast with butter and Marmite
a spinach and ricotta filo tart
a cherry tomato tart thing (these were off the deli counter at Tesco)
    Sezchuan noodle bowl
crispy chilli prawns with the dip
    three spring rolls
2 Gu melting middle chocolate puds
    a glass of white wine
half a tub of Haagen Daaz Chocolate, Pralines and Caramel (half price at the mo and I love it's sickly unhealthiness)

To be fair, today is a particularly bad day, usually just one meal would be unhealthy, I'm quite good at meals. It's snacking in between I fall down on, also extras. And portion size. I like to eat a lot of food.

Anyway, see you all around, good luck and enjoy your Sunday

    Hello newbees!

Welcome and of course you can join!

LC!!!!! Where have you been honey bunch?! It's been like a week, I've missed you!! Numbers sound great btw I'll do that in a min! Shh yer face about the wobbly bits, I'm sure they're not that bad. Plus even if they are even a smidgen wobbly you're doing the right thing! I know you track your cals on your app but does it tell you how many you should be eating to lose weight? Mine is 1400 as I said I have a sedementary lifestyle, much like a ultra white snail (haven't had a tan in years!) might be worth looking into if you haven't already?

So people, today's question is.... What's your vice? What do you really struggle to resist? Sweet or savoury?

Mine in chocolate and ice cubes, but ice cubes only damage your teeth not your waist line! I have proper cravings for chocolate though :(

Love and hugs and will update first post after I have done the shred... Yep it's 7am on a Sunday !!! xxxxx

Sorry, this made me laugh! Think you mean sedentary - sedementary is a kind of rock formation ;) Although i sit on the sofa much longer, i'll be a fossil! :rotfl: Off to work in a mo though, another little sideline to bring in some extra cash. 3 jobs is a bit masochistic :( but i'm hoping i'll have less time to sit at home and snack.

Ice cubes??? now that sounds like a great non-calorific vice that I should take up. Tell us more!

Try options hot chocolate for chocolate cravings. if you make it with hot water only its about 40 cals (i add a dash of milk)

Haha gotta love the autocorrect on the iPad haha although I think I do resemble a fossil!

I eat ice cubes all the time, it is really bad! I eat it out of glasses of coke at the pub, straight out the trays, eat it at work, everywhere. The smaller the piece the better, as it doesn't break your teeth but I have a real hand to mouth motion problem that it helps me to stop snacking and a bit of extra water intake. Apparently though craving ice is a sign of lack of iron but as a blood donor I think I'm alright so far xxx

My vice is savoury foods! In particular crisps. I can eat crisps until I feel sick. Infact just carbs in general I love! Potatoes are the best followed by bread and all things doughy. Mmmmm garlic bread!

I think one of my main problems however is portion control. I can cook up a lovely healthy HM meal, then eat enough of it for 2 people! I like to look for recipes on the internet etc. Most recipes give quantities for 4 people. There's only me and OH, so I make it as stated in the recipe then dish it out between the 2 of us oops!

I was a little bit naughty yesterday, didn't do so great on the healthy eating front. I started the day out well with 30g of ceral and 1% fat milk. Lunch was a small portion of left over pasta with tomato sauce. From then on the day went down hill fast! Infact just as it always does. Post 5pm onwards is always the time that I want to crash on the sofa and just pig out on snacks, wolf down my dinner then start on some more snacks. So I think my priority for this month will be to try and get out of this habit and 'reprogramme' myself!:rotfl:

So to summarise my targets from all posts thus far on the dieting front:
    Lose 7lbs
    Switch back to frylite spray
    Use 1% milk or skimmed
Cut back on snacking and replace snacks I do have with healthier options

As I've already stated I'm trying to change my eating habits in small managable steps, so that it becomes automatic and the norm for me so I can incorporate it into my life easily. This way I hope not to feel like I'm 'dieting'.

Ooh my top tip for today friends is this. Switch to decaf tea and coffee if you are able. Caffeine causes water retention and all my friends who have switched to decaf have reported losing around 3lb each! So I'm going to wean myself of caffeine slowly and replace it with decaf versions. Prepare for some headaches if you do this, but everyone I know who has done it so far really thinks it was worth it. They all say they feel more brighter and energetic, and of course a few lbs lighter!

Right thats all from me. I'm off to wake up the OH. We are going up to Dartmoor today for a lovely, brisk walk/hike. The weather is currently gorgeous!:D Have a lovely, light day everyone!

ooooo I don't want to miss out on a number!

I want to lose 7 pounds by the end of July and have sorted out my bank accounts and savings. Next month I 'll have a savings target but at the moment I am all about guess work.

but so i don't mess up the list ;) I will aim for 500 pounds in the savings account.

I shredded and am eating a banana.......................
    Nevertheless she persisted.
