Good luck to them both, I'm still very interested in who the father is. Hopefully OP will post an update on the whole situation soon.
Why? Its nothing to do with you who the father is0 -
I think that may have been me. The site is classed as a social networking site. Don't take my word for it, the write up is somewhere on Martin's blog and also here http://news.icm.ac.uk/business/retail/money-saving-expert-proves-popular/919/

why? This is a young woman's life not a soap opera....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I think this is awful.
On the original thread, I posted that I thought some of the replies were akin to rubber-necking at a car crash. This post just bears that out.
I have no interest in who the baby's father is (and never did).
I just hope that Poppyfield's daughter decides to tell her (just her, nobody else if that's what she prefers) who it is and that Poppyfield's understandable concerns (probably fired up even more by some posters' lurid suggestions of possible fathers and scenarios on the original thread) are set to rest.
I hope the decision that has (hopefully) been made by now works out to be the best for all the family over the coming months and years.0 -

Hang on a minute, the girls own MOTHER made a concious decision to air her DD's dirty laundry in public.
No-one made her go into as much detail as she did, the mother had started, and was happy to continue, with the thread, you cannot then tell people that it's none of their business and they're wrong for being curious.
You don't open your life on a public forum and expect to maintain your privacy, that is just ludicrous.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I suppose the main thing people wanted to know was if the young lady was ok and had not been subjected to some abuse/abuse of trust as she is in a vulnerable position, young, described as quiet and shy and having had her father recently left the family home.
As said earlier, I hope everything works out for the poppyfield family whatever the outcome.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Of course nobody made her go into so much detail, but most of the wild speculation over who might have been the father or how the conception had occurred was voiced by other posters, not poppyfield.
I didn't actually say it was wrong to be curious.
I didn't actually say it wasn't anybody's business.
I said I thought the post I referred to (#70) was awful (and explained why I thought that).
That's my opinion and I'm entitled to state it.
You don't have to like it or agree with it.
I feel that referring to this unfortunate event as 'airing dirty laundry in public' is distasteful.
That's also my opinion - which I am allowed to voice on here.I suppose the main thing people wanted to know was if the young lady was ok and had not been subjected to some abuse/abuse of trust as she is in a vulnerable position, young, described as quiet and shy and having had her father recently left the family home.

To me, this did come through in a lot of posts, but there were a minority suggesting poppyfield should call the Police etc etc and painting lurid scenarios which (again in my opinion) only made things worse for her, not better.0 -
but...how great a mum can you be if your 15 year old (therefore likely at 14, 13 etc) is having sex with school pals and thinking thats normal?
just a question!
Surely the only way for any parent to know their child, (male or female) isn't having underage sex is to lock them in their bedrooms and ban them from seeing anyone until they are 16?
Me and my brother were brought up by both our parents in exactly the same way. My brother has been having sex probably since he was 13 if not younger and I didn't lose my virginity till I was in love at 17.
I am now 24 and my brother is 22. Neither of us were kept under house arrest, we both had the birds and the bee's talk from both our parents aswell as the ridiculous "sex education" lessons in school and both were fully informed but get this we both have our OWN minds and can make our own decisions.
I don't know 1 teenager/child who doesn't do something theyre not supposed to at some point when theyre growing up.
Yes I understand that some things have much greater repercussions than others but there is only so much that parents can be blamed for, as I said at the beginning of my post, short of keeping them under lock and key they can only teach and guide, kids will be kids!!0 -

That was my concern. She was a `good` girl didnt go out and was not one to go out alone according to OP SO it made me think something wasn`t right!
Hopefully it is `OK` in the way of nothing nasty happened!DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j
