On the thread we're talking about, there were only a couple of abusive posts, certainly not enough for the site team to pull the thread because of overwork! Disagreeing with someone is not abuse!0 -

I guess the MSE team thought the thread was creating too much work because lots of people were reporting lots of posts.
I didn't report any (I rarely report any post as abuse unless it's particularly nasty) because (like you) I think everyone has the right to voice their opinion.0 -

That's the whole point, surely. The thread wasn't pulled because people were being abusive but because other posters were reporting posts they didn't like.
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone should feel the need to act in that way.0 -
