I interpreted the below to indicate that it was the unfriendly posts that were the problem.
The Abuse Team wouldn't delete posts that were fine and dandy.
Work wouldn't be generated for the Forum Team if people were well mannered and dare I say it - kind - when they posted rather than sanctimonious and on the attack.MSE_Andrea wrote: »Hi everyone
For a non-MoneySaving topic this thread is creating rather a lot of work for the Forum Team.
Please also remember this is a friendly site.
Thank you!

Oh yes. If you dare to have an opinion that doesn't tally with the majority, dare to disagree or don't have armfuls of ((((hugs)))) then watch out!
My views very rarely tally with the majority on this website and I never post hugs, (wrong generation) but I have never had a post deleted or any contact with the Forum Team.
However, I do usually take pains to express my opinions politely, or dispassionately and I endeavour not to be unkind or rude.
Having said that, Dave 101t's posts often remind me of Les Dawson in drag as "Ada" pursing his lips in disapproval at anybody and everybody.

I think if posters report posts that simply disagree with their viewpoint (rather than being personal, vicious attacks on other posters - i.e. real abuse), it does generate work for the MSE team because they have to check them out to see if they really are abusive.0 -

There were very very few posts that were actually deleted and I cannot see how you have managed to read Andrea's post in the way you have done.
You seem to be yet another one who think that, unless someone's post is huggy and says what the OP wants to hea,r then the opinions expressed have no validity.0 -
The way I see it it's the abusive posts that cause the workload.
If people didn't post stuff that contravenes the rules we wouldn't even need an abuse team.
:rotfl: at Ada. Old fashioned comedy always makes me go :eek:0 -

But, as I said before, there were very few abusive posts, certainly not enough to trouble the BGs. On the other hand, I bet that the unwarranted complaints kept them busy.0 -

The way I see it, its the unnecessary reports of abuse that caused the workload.0 -

I don't know if this has been covered already but how would we know whether there had been any unnecessary reports of abuse connected with that thread and who decides which ones were unnecessary?
If you read all the posts as some of us did, then you can make a personal judgement on the veracity of the abuse reports. Obviously, if a thread receives a lot of reports, warranted or otherwise, the team has to check them out, that was what I read into the post by MSE Andrea.
Personally speaking I saw very few, if any, which I felt fell into the category of abuse.0
