No worries, I'll get on it tomorrow if I get the chance!
As for appliances, well, it all depends on mow much you want to spend lol
I would nearly always recommend Neff, but they can be a bit pricey. Of course you could go for Neff for the appliances on show and Bosch for the appliances hidden behind doors
Thanks very much on all accounts! There's so much comparison amongst the appliances. I think a good way to start may be to look at the cost of the cupboards, trims and doors / drawers, and worktops, then take them off my budget and see what I can do from there.
Not sure how many places will be willing for me to buy everything except the worktops and appliances."The future needs a big kiss"0 -

Most decent places will not have a problem with you buying everything but the appliances and worktops from them. It's very much a buyers market. And bear in mind that profit margins are lower on appliances than they are on furniture, so you will probably get an even better price without the appliances being in thereIf it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

For the ovens I would recommend having a look at the latest rangemaster built in stuff, worked on one the other day and was quite impressed by the quality, best of all it had no stupid unnecessary pcb's so should be serviceable for years and years to come, with a 2 yr warranty as standard.
Oh yeah and it looked pretty good too.
Word of warning steer clear of a brand called prima, no matter what salesmen try and tell you.0 -
Great Meeps!!! As always, really appreciating you taking the time to help out of a busy schedule to help me!!! Without at all meaning to sound picky, could we make a couple of little changes?- The units looks like a different kind to what I was thinking of? They have handles? I was looking at the urban lineaire range? (unless the software is it's closest match?)
- The worktops to be timber (ash), though I suppose this doesn't matter on the drawing really.
- Remove the units next to the oven hood along the top. (more open space)
- Remove the drawers / cupboards under the breakfast bar (but keep them along the wall underneath - if that makes sense?)
and I think that's just about it?!!"The future needs a big kiss"0 -

I would agree with taking out the wall units around the cooker. They don't belong there. If you want something very modern, then that's the bit that sticks out as being quite suburban to me.
Under that breakfast bar, I'd opt for wall units as base units. A simple breakfast bar with a support pole looks pretty cheap, imho and the base units along the wall would be pretty unusable as they'd be under the worktop. A 30cm wide wall unit the length of that peninsular would give you the 30cm space needed to get your legs under the breakfast bar, provide a more attractive support for the worktop, a nicer symmetry with the other side of the room where the wine cooler is, and give you proper usable storage space on the working kitchen side, iyswim. From that side it would look like Meepster's illustration but you'd have the space needed behind as wellEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks doozer.
This is the quickest picture I can find to try and show what I mean about the breakfast bar. I definitely agree about the poles - I don't want that at all. I was thinking about having nothing under the breakfast bar so people can sit at both sides. A bit like this:
You can just see how the breakfast bar is propped up the worktop timber where the lady is standing (no metal pole!). The drawers as you can see run under the breakfast bar - yes I know these may be a bit of a pain to access, though if I only keep the stuff that's used rarely here it could be ok? I'm still at the planning stage so things can easily change.
Maybe not the best pic - but I'm at work! hehe."The future needs a big kiss"0 -
