    Thanks Meepster! :)

That looks really good - it's pretty much exactly what I had planned in my head already - so that's quite assuring. Few things I'm thinking:

    1. if the door should open away from the fridge freezer rather than onto it? This door isn't installed yet - so can open either way.
    2. What's next to the fridge freezer next to the door? It looks like a slim cuboard? Perhaps that could be coupled with the one on the other side to make a 'pull out' lada style unit? If that makes sense? Would that work?

Do we have any ideas what this sort of design would cost approximately? Just as a very rough guideline.

I need to decide upon all the cabinets and colours and textures - hate that bit!!!

Thank you VERY much for taking the time out to look into this for me. It really IS appreciated!!!! :j:j:beer::beer:

It would make sense for the door to open away from the FF, the last thing you want to do is batter it with the door.

Both of the units, either side of the FF, are pull out larders. It just balances it out better that way and you'd be surprised exactly how much you can get into one of them.

I still think it could do with tweaking a little bit, but I'm glad it is along the same lines you were thinking. I only had a hour or so to play about with it, so when I get a little more time, I'll see what I can tweak.

As for cost...well, there are far too many factors which need to be looked at yet, such as the colour and texture of fascias, worktop type, appliances, etc etc etc. So at this stage, I'd say somewhere between £5k and £50k :D

Maybe once you've come up with some ideas for those I can be a little more accurate. And you know where I am if you're needing help with the choices :)
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

    Spot on meeps! Spot on!

I think I need to visit a magnet shop really. That might help me out. I must admit the website looks pretty lacking in variety to me. There are a lot of styles which do not stand out from the previous and next one! :o

It's always better to go into showrooms and have a proper look at the styles of kitchens available. Pictures on the internet, or in brochures, don't always tell the full story and you certainly can't get a proper feel for how the kitchen style would work.

Personally, I'd be going round multiple kitchen showrooms to see exactly what is on the market at the moment. Other kitchen suppliers are available :D

(Oh and access to a £1500 kitchen design software package helps too ;) )

I recently discovered a firm called Kit Stone who do solid oak kitchens at chipboard prices. I have no connection with them and I have no idea what they are like quality wise, but it looks as if you have to do a bit more organising than with some companies. There is also Optiplan in the south, and many other small firms too, and I guess many buy units from unnamed sources just as Optiplan buy from Manor Cabinets whilst trying to hide that fact or at least not explicitly making it obvious.

I'm not exactly sure of the relevance of your post?

You said "Other kitchen suppliers are available" hence I mentioned a few names. I thought that was clear, but I guess not.
