Daughter is pregnant - at 15!

have you been able to voice to her that by not giving even a tiny clue as to the father, that she is causing you to think the worse and this is eating you up with worry when you just want to be able to give her the support she needs going forward
I don't think this is a good idea, this may push Poppyfield's daughter into untruthfully saying nothing unsavoury happened with the father, just to stop Poppyfield from worrying. I think that things are moving very fast here...time should be taken to digest the news and perhaps after Poppyfield's daughters dad has visited and the dust has settled there, moves should be made to find out more about the father.Belly by name, JELLYBELLY by nature!

The school needs to know so it knows what to do if there is an accident or injury or the girl suddenly becomes ill. I doubt in an emergency the girl will want to let everyone dealing with it know that she's pregnant - she may not even be capable of telling them......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

That is a valid point. Here to learn and pass on my experiences.

I agree with Errata regardless of the outcome unless she is staying off school until she terminates (if that is what she decides) The school will have to be made aware. I am sure her head of year can be trusted to be discrete and not make her the gossip of the staff room (well I would hope he/she could in their position).0

I do not agree. I would certainly not be telling mine. The very first thing the school would do would be to contact me and they could be told then if necessary, so this would not be an issue.0 -
You may be surprised as well at how supportive school will be, especially in regards to absence, obviously they will want her to attend but will be sympathetic, and they may point you in the right directions.
School were fab with me when I was pregnant, especially when I was chucking up during my GCSE's!
Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end0 -
Sorry if Ive missed it but I haven't seen any mention of going to the doctor. I would have thought it crucial to go to asap. The doctor will be able to give you advice and support. I would also let the head at school know as soon as she goes back. I'd get an appointment and go to see him/her in person you can insist it is not to go any further than you and him/her and the school nurse but again they could be fantastic support for both you and your daughter at this time. Also in these health and safety obsessed days the school probably needs to know for insurance reasons.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

Yes in time, if she decides to continue with the pregnancy, but she's already kept it from them for 14 weeks, so a little while longer why she decides what to do is hardly likely to put her at more risk. The impression I get is that the daughter wants as few people as possible to know about it right now.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

The school will also need to know due to her science lessons.
I work in a school science dept, so I know that many of the chemicals they use in experiments can be harmful to the unborn child exposure to these can result in miscarriage and foetal abnormalities, so it is imperative that they are told if she returns to school whilst still pregnant. Even if she has decided to terminate, she could change her mind, and that risk isn't worth taking for the little she will miss from sitting out of a few experiments. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0
