it must vary from area to area then because one of dd's friends recently had a very early termination (she was 6 weeks) 100% certain of her dates (her bf is in the army and he was home on leave) but she still had to have a scan before they would let her take the first tablet.
I have just checked the FPA website and it says you MAY have a scan so it obviously isn't essential in every case.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

OP did you have any clue before your DD told you that something was wrong. It's just I always pick up when something is bothering DD even if she denies it. Something as major as this would have changed DD behaviour during the past 12 or so weeks.
Somewhere in the beginning of the thread OP says daughter was very quiet but she thought it was because of dad leaving.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

Oh don't be so soft! It was a genuine question; what did that 'supportive' post bring to the party?0 -
Poppyfields, my heart goes out to you. I have a sixteen year old daughter, and I can only begin to imagine what you are going through.
I think there are many worse things that can happen in life, but this is still a very difficult situation. You must be so worried, upset and scared for your daughter.
You seem to be a very sensible and caring mum, and I'm sure you'll find the strength to guide you both through this maze. She's lucky to have you. Good luck.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

I have read this thread and respect everyone's opinions. However after working with young people for many years and seeing many young mums, yes, some do make a success of things but an awful lot do not. Although encouraged to continue with their education, too many struggle to do this and live on benefits. Seeing lots of babies who's parents are fed up with no money and wanting to spend time out with friends is very depressing, they get very frustrated and I'm afraid the babies suffer for it. Yes I know this happens with older mums too but I am a mum to a 15 year old daughter and although would support her, she knows that it would be very hard.
Although my daughter doesnt leave school until next year she is already taking some of her GCSEs now so I wonder if the OP's daughter has missed them this week.0 -
To the person who asked about signs of the pregnancy being there - my mum told me I was pregnant the day I was due on!! Yep total shock.
But the two pregnancies that I have had I never suffered sickness with either, so not always a sign.0 -

My ex-husband only told me years after we went our separate ways that he could tell an hour beforehand that I was going to get a humdinger of a migraine. He said my personal scent (no .. not BO!) changed and that he would quietly rearrange his day knowing what was coming.0
