HALIFAX ONE VISA - phoned them today to close account and was offered 2.95% for 6 months or 6.95% for Life of Balance, both with 3% fee. Not good enough to keep me, I think I can do better elsewhere.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

I transferred a balance to a Disney Chase card - 0% for a year. I called and threatened to transfer again. They offered me around 1.75% for another year. I've read that it can be detrimental to your credit to continue to transfer and open up new accounts so I think I'll stay with them. Good sticky!
Is that a UK card?0 -
From Barclaycard (Platinum) I have a 0% on purchases until Jan 2008 and 0% BT until May 2008 but with a 3% fee.
Spookily the deadline for applying 21 June coincides exactly with the end of my current 0% deals from HBOS.
I think I'll ring them see if they might drop their fee to their normal 2.5%.0 -
Just been offered 3.9% LOB no fee on my M&S More card. I didn't even have to clear the existing 3.9% LOB first. And they increased my credit limit there and then.
Hope this helps someone.0 -
i called to cancel my John lewis partnership card and got transferred to customer relatiosn who offered 2% p.a for one year with no transfer fee. I happily accepted the offer as with any new card you have to pay that in fee and no new credit searches on the history. I paid off my existing 0% before i called to close the account.0

I have unfortunately acquired (Sometime ago – approx 6 years, due to a divorce and associated problems) a poor credit rating, no CCJ’s but a poor rating.
I do have a Lloyds TSB Advance credit card with an APR of 14%. As the balance is now at 41/2 k I would like to transfer to another card with 0% interest etc., and reduce my balance quicker. However I just can’t get accepted by another card, even the ones who say they take poor credit history. (I have approached Lloyds but they say they offer no deals for existing balances)
I have no idea why incidents from 6 years ago should still be affecting things today (I have seen my credit report, and it confirms what I have said, that since the ‘bad’ spot nothing new has occurredJayne0 -

I was offered 5.9% for 6 months with no fee this morning. Suspect this is because I've already had 2 BTs at 0% as I applied before they brought in the LOB offer.0 -
just transfered a balance to MBNA, they gave me 2.9% till Dec but with a 3% charge, dont know if I,ve done the right thing now but didnt want to chance yet another new card. Just got one 3 months ago, so that seemed a bit soon for me. Will close down my Lloyds when balance is transfered, which clever cookie is going to tell me if I got it right? transfered £2,500:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
