so applying for it when the baby is born only serves to make me look like a psychopathic cow.

what interesting language about yourself, your dad's issues have gone quite deep. OP, i hope it all goes well, its the right thing that the father has the chance to put things right, if not, then you know what to do.

I think the parents should know, after all it will be their Grandchild and I feel they have a right to know that.

As for the Dad, he might not want anything to do with the child, but I believe he should still pay his way, after all it took 2 to make the baby!

Good Luck with it all :)

You mentioned you can request the grandfathers friendship on fb, if this is the case you can PM them, however only on the friend request. You get a chance to add a message to the request.

If you don't want CSA for the baby, you could always put it in a savings account to allow him to attend uni, buy a car or whatever when he is old enough to know that this money is from his Dad?

Oh so if he checked his friend requests the message from me would pop up? Even though I don't want to be "friends" with his father it would enable me to say "Hi, don't accept this add but blah blah blah"?

Ok you used a couple of comments that I made about my dads upbringing which weren't even that "telling" as I did not go into any depth as to what I meant and decided I am affected deeply by it.....which is not the case. At all.

My dad has not hard a hard life, rather is a product of parental divorce and has some issues around that. None of which form my opinions on a family life and to be honest I am my own person and live how I want to. So to assume one thing that is not the case is ridiculous.

i picked up long before you mentioned your dad, that there is an odd way you feel you would be interpreted by the grandparents, basically a liar and or out for money. there was a presentation that disclosure of the baby would be a negative thing, not the good news that it clearly is. then you spoke about your dad and i do believe his feelings will have influenced you, children (as you will soon find out) pick up lots without being overtly told. we all give messages to children in the way we behave, talk and the roles we play.

as i say, good luck with the future
