offbeatgirl wrote:Well I'm feeling pretty livid. After admitting to misplacing my original message as spam, despite it being sent via their own website 'contact us' page, easyjethotels have now rejected my price offer, because the screenshot I'd sent them, which I took to prove the price, just states that the room is a standard, not a double/twin as per my booking (it was a double twin, but that doesn't show up on the booking page screenshot I took of the competing offer).
I have pointed out that it is unfair to penalise me for their error in losing my original email and only finding it after I rung to find out what had happened (by which stage the hotel was no longer available at the lower price); I feel very frustrated that I lost out on a cheaper rate while waiting for them to respond to a price guarantee message which they'd lost. I've sent a message to easyjethotels explaining why I feel they should honour their price guarantee given that it was their fault that they didn't check the hotel when I sent them the message, but as everything has to go up to head office and back, apparently I have to wait til Friday to hear back. I don't know whether to give up and book another nearby hotel before their rates soar upwards, or wait and hope. Bah!
I'm relieved that no one else appears to have had this problem, but I really would encourage everyone to take plenty of screen shots.
Wow, thats really unfortunate, sorry to hear that! Hopefully they'll admit that they were wrong and still give you double the difference back. Else, refunding you ALL your money would be decent too? At least you could try again?
I'm still waiting to hear back, emailed them on Tuesday, so if I don't hear anything I will call them tomorrow afternoon... Triple = Triple Standard? I hope so!too young to hold on, too old just to break free and run0 -
Thanks for the sympathy, though I am highly doubtful as to whether my complaint will succeed (unhealthy scepticism as to conscience of easyjethotels...)
I think according to the Ts and Cs you are only allowed to make one claim a month, so I may just book another room while rates are cheap if I'm unsuccesful. Good luck with your claim!0 -
I wouldn't let this go. When I made my successful claim, the room on EJH showed as 'Double/Twin Standard' and the one I was comparing it to on AlphaRooms was a 'Double Standard'.
Get onto them again and give 'em hell. This space has been intentionally left blank0 -
Hi there,
Just made a claim for Double the difference on a hotel in Barcelona (thanks very much to TBeckett100!), and got what looks like a standard reply in French. Is this normal?0 -

Mh, my reply was in english. I'm still waiting for a yay/nay to my price guarantee that I emailed over on Tuesday morning!too young to hold on, too old just to break free and run0 -
I made my hotel booking at 10:14 this morning, received a response stating that they would pass on to Managers at 10:48 and a confirmation of refund at 11:22. The price on easyjethotels.com was £321 and I found it cheaper and will get a refund of £266.52!!! It does work!0

nice one.
What I would say. if this gets too popular, ie they are paying out more than they get in then they will bin it.
A lot of these companies (inc Hotelopia BTW) that we are comparing prices with ,you can get up to 8% cashback via Quidco and the likes.
So my motion is, unless you can make a saving of 15% dont do it. That way we can keep this going for the bigger , juicier ones like TBeckett100, Glen The Baker and more recently snowf1ake got.
What do you think ?
Like ,it was never my intention to bust easyjethotels;)0 -
TBeckett100 wrote:The AB Viladomat hotel in barcelona is quoted at £163 a night on easyjethotels. However if you book with easyjethotels and you find the smae for less, they give you double the difference.
On a room only basis the same room type is on https://www.hotelpronto.com for £100.00 less, double the difference means a full refund when you get back of your outlay (capped at what you have spent!)
So if you have a bit to lay out in return for a freebie hotel, this is one on offer I have spotted.
Slightly off the point of this thread - but my hubbie and I stayed a couple of nights at this hotel - be aware that it is not as nice as it looks in the photos and despite the description, is quite a way out of the city centre and on a busy/noisy road. If you can use this deal to find a better hotel - then good luck to you.0 -

The thing is, if EasyJetHotels/Hotelopia don't want to be forking out all the time, why don't they just price their hotels more realistically?
For example, I'm currently looking for a 4* in Milan for mid-May for a work colleague. Find-rooms.com have the Michelangelo at £222 for a 3-night stay - EasyJetHotels have the exact same hotel, room, meal-plan, etc for £746!This space has been intentionally left blank0
