Complete agree with Budgetflyer, it's not worth for just a few pound, but complete different story if you get something very nice on a almost free basis.
BTW, I have just got reply from hotelopia after almost one week waiting!! They have confirmed my claim is accepted and will refund the difference after my stay, so overall I will be paying about £80 for 3 nights stay in a 5 star in barcelona, with breakfast!
Thanks again burdgeflyer, I'm also a bit worried about they pulling this deal off from the website any moment, so got to start look for hotels for more holiday plans ASAP.
One thing though, although easyjet has a A to Z list of the desitnation and it includes cities far away like KL or SH, but if you try to search for hotel there nothing will come up, didn't try the american city so not sure about that, but I don't think you can find any hotel in asia or africa on it's website.0 -
Nice one Christal.
A few quotations which apply in your case-Fortune favours the Brave
VirgilLearn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.

budgetflyer wrote:So my motion is, unless you can make a saving of 15% dont do it. That way we can keep this going for the bigger , juicier ones like TBeckett100, Glen The Baker and more recently snowf1ake got.
Definitely agree on that! (I got 75% off :T ) but in any case, the hotelopia prices are so outrageous, if you can't get a big discount back you could probably get a better deal elsewhere anyway.
Christal: I was actually checking back to see how you got on. Good result! When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
hi, this might be a dumb question but what do people mean by taking a "screen shot" and how is it done?Wiggly:heartpulsFB0

It just means recording a picture of the image that was on your computer screen. The easiest way to do it is just press CTRL and PRNT SCRN at the same time. Then go into a programme that can display images (like Paint or Word) and Paste it in. You should get a picture of your computer screen, which you can save. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

Just an update - got a reply from Hotelopia yesterday evening saying they would honour the price guarantee, so 2 nights for two in a 4* hotel in Barcelona, bed & breakfast basis, is costing about £39!
So with Ryanair flights, parking, hotel, transfers, should be about £70, plus spending money - thanks to this great website and the ever helpful members.0 -

Hurrah! I received this from customer support today:
"After long conversation with my supervisors and with my managers I have escalated this case to my General Manager, forwarding her your e.mail below. Finally I am glad to inform you that I (and your e.mail) have convinced them to accept your claim on our Price Guarantee. I am happy to inform you that a refund of 716 GBP (double the difference of 358 GBP) will be made on your return from the Hotel."
So that's 5 nights at the 4* hotel I specifically wanted to stay in (the Barcelona Princess) for £87 (!)
I suppose it goes to demonstrate the lengths a well-argued, polite complaints letter will get you (also perhaps testimony to the helpfulness of the customer services, if not of head office). Thanks to all who have been encouraging, and I hope my experience will be of benefit to anyone else whose email has gone astray as spam. Also that it seems that easyjethotels will accept lastminute.com as a price comparison (but check that you pay upfront?)
