thanks so much for this thread!
I've been trying to find a good cheap hotel in amsterdam for ages, thanks to this tip I've managed to book a 5* hotel for less than the prices I'd originally been quoted for 1-2*!!
just got the standard auto response from easyjet, but like kippax1966, mine was in french too
translated it just says they'll answer all requests in 2 days, but not sure if I should contact them again to say they replied to me in french, presumably I'd just get another automated response anyway.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -

I phoned them on the number on their website, and they requested I send a screenprint of the cheaper deal, which I did. They approved my refund about 3 hours later.
Good luck0 -
Good for you offbeatgirl!!
I have been trying to look for a nice hotel in Amsterdam for ages but couldn't get anything under £150 (after the double difference calculation of course), If wishiwasarichgirl don't mind, can you let me know what hotel you booked and from which website you found the cheaper deal?0 -
And another thing, when you search hotels on easyjet, they always quote you the room price in "double/twin", but when you search on other websites, such as hotelpronto, alpharooms, they always quote you sepearately for double and twin room, I'm not exactly sure that if easyjet will treat this as "same room type", so wondering if anyone has tried to claim the difference under such circumstance before and got confirmation about refund.
Any advice is much appreciated.0 -

I'll PM you the details if I can get confirmation that it's worked!Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -

I am looking at a hotel in Las Vegas in September. I looked at the Travelrepublic.co.uk and I found a hotel cheaper than on easyjet hotels.
When I go to confirmation page it says to pay a deposit, not the full amount like mentioned on here. If I take a screen shot of this will it work?0 -
Thanks Glennthebaker(r u really a good baker?) and wishiwasarichgirl, now I have more options, will try to book something this week and let you you guys know what happens.0

Ok, 2 more I have booked (going twice in a month!)
Petit Palace Garden Ramblas - £161 a night on easyjet only £92 on travelrepublic. double the diff means a 4 star ramblas hotel for 20 quid odd inc breakfast!!
if that isnt available why not stroll a little further down las ramblas and stay at the H10 Montcada £391 for 2 nights in Feb but £144 on find-rooms.com or £174 on hotelpronto. so a freebe or £25! a night (with rooftop jacuzzi0
