  • pboae,

Well done - did your room type correspond exactly, or was the Easyjethotels one a twin/double, and the other a double? I know I sort of answered my question previously, but if it was as I questioned and still approved, it makes the task much easier.

    Many thanks

    Mike
  • It might be helpful for people going through this process to know that my original email to easyjethotels was apparently marked as spam - I only found this out when I rang up easyjethotels after 3 days to find out what was happening as I had heard nothing and by this time, the cheaper rate had disappeared. Fortunately I'd taken a screen shot and apparently my claim has now been forwarded to head office for approval (I'm still waiting, rather impatiently). In short, I'd recommend taking a screen shot in case your original message goes astray, and ringing through if you haven't heard back after a few days. Rather irritating though that a message sent online using one of their own headings mysteriouslywent astray as spam.

I thought you had to contact them via the "Contact Us" link on the webpage? Did you just manually send them an email? Thanks

  • Yep, I did contact them via the 'contact us' link on the webpage, choosing as subject title 'claim under best price guarantee', and still (apparently) my message was treated as spam  I thought this might be helpful for anyone else who has been waiting to hear back for a while.

    Thanks for clearing that up!

Can this be used for booking a hotel in America?
Also, how long after booking the 'overpriced' room do you have for finding the cheaper; ie, if your booking something for a date 2 months away, and prices fluxuate, how long can you wait/search to find the cheaper one?

Lastly, can they be used for UK hotel stays?

It can be used for any hotel easyjet feature.Destinations are worldwide. The drop down box only has easyjet airline destinations ,but underneath is a link to a worldwide A to Z of featured cities/resorts.
From booking you have 24hrs to send a claim in, so do your reserch b4 hand. You wont get your refund until after your completed stay and its for a max 7 days.
Remember, the comparison has to be bookable in UK £s so foreign sites probably arent covered

It was exactly the same a twin/double price.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
  • Well I'm feeling pretty livid. After admitting to misplacing my original message as spam, despite it being sent via their own website 'contact us' page, easyjethotels have now rejected my price offer, because the screenshot I'd sent them, which I took to prove the price, just states that the room is a standard, not a double/twin as per my booking (it was a double twin, but that doesn't show up on the booking page screenshot I took of the competing offer).

I have pointed out that it is unfair to penalise me for their error in losing my original email and only finding it after I rung to find out what had happened (by which stage the hotel was no longer available at the lower price); I feel very frustrated that I lost out on a cheaper rate while waiting for them to respond to a price guarantee message which they'd lost. I've sent a message to easyjethotels explaining why I feel they should honour their price guarantee given that it was their fault that they didn't check the hotel when I sent them the message, but as everything has to go up to head office and back, apparently I have to wait til Friday to hear back. I don't know whether to give up and book another nearby hotel before their rates soar upwards, or wait and hope. Bah!

I'm relieved that no one else appears to have had this problem, but I really would encourage everyone to take plenty of screen shots.
