Well I have found a great hotel in center of Amsterdam, and according to the price on Easyjet and this website https://www.reserveahotelonline.com if easyjet really refunds the difference double, my stay can be free as well, but just a little hesitated since this website was not listed on the budget flyers website.......not sure yet, but the temption is huge....

Just make sure its the same room type and board basis.Otherwise I reckon you are covered.
My list was just some examples of valid comparisons, There are loads of others.
Main thing being you pay upfront in UK £s.
Companies like bookings and Active hotels for instance only secure your booking so DONT qualify for a comparison

Does the alternative rate definately have to be a pay up front one? I've put in a claim for an alternative rate seen on lastminute.com and am waiting for a reply. However, I've read and reread the terms and conditions on the eaysjethotel site and it doesn't seem to say anything about the alternative rate being a pay up front, just that the room must be identical and immediately bookable, rather than on request Has anyone had any luck using lastminute as an alternative site?

i think you have to pay upfront with lastminute.com. good luck, i would see if another website has a deal and get a second request in before 24hrs are up

Technically thats true,but any hotel abroad would not be paid in £s on arrival or checkout.They may offer a price in UK £s but it may just be a variable currency conversion.
I just think its easier to cover yourself if the booking conditions are EXACTLY THE SAME

Thanks for the advice, I double checked the hotel on last minute by taking it right up to payment stage and it is a prepay in £ so I think it should qualify - and I'll try and argue my corner with easyjethotels if they disagree! I'll let people know what happens in case anyone else was thinking of using lastminute.

Have just booked on Easyjet this afternoon and submit the claim immediately, found the cheaper rate on the travelrepublic website, fingers crossed, waiting for the confirmation now!

T & C say that it has to be in the same currency, I.E Booking.com is quoting the rate in Euros, does that mean I can't use them as a comparison?
