I am struggling to get a good deal in Rome in May. Any suggestions?0

GlennTheBaker wrote:Hmmm, I've just looked again at Quick Roms and they list a room described as a 'Double Suite' at a price near to that on EasyJetHotels, which is exactly the same as is listed on EasyJetHotels so I'm pretty sure they would say that the cheaper one would not qualify for their guarantee. Looks like you were right, meinnit
If the cheaper quote was for an identical room, then I cannot see how easyjet can disqualify it.
I have a similar situation with my claim, Easyjet v Diytravel, as posted earlier. They had two prices displayed for the same room and I took the cheaper quote to compare. Diytravel confirmed it was the same type of room just a different supplier, There is nothing in Easyjethotels Terms and Conditions which says anyone cannot do this. To my mind a cheaper quote is what it says ...
I am still waiting for an answer from Easyjet.

Its a tough one to call because the hotel in question is an all-suite affair, therefore a room described as a 'Double' is going to be a double suite. The problem is that Quick Rooms have another room listed as a 'Double Suite' (at a price similar to that on EasyJetHotels) which I'm sure EJH would say is the one they must use for comparison. This space has been intentionally left blank0

1 DOUBLE/ TWIN STANDARD Incl. Breakfast 161 GBP 643 GBP Select
Full and final price.. Unlike other sites our rates always include all taxes and fees
So will i struggle to get this one through on find-rooms?0 -
I have checked Easyjethotels, Find-rooms and H10 web sites and my opinion is it is a winner. There are only one type of room (apart from a Junior Suite) in the hotel, therefore I would personally go ahead. Just my opinion and no liabilty !

Ive highlighted in red what I think is the fair comparison. So IMO its a goer0 -
v) Claims for refunds must be based on a comparison of the same hotel for the same dates and same room type and occupancy, and be inclusive of the same services as those offered by easyJetHotels (for example service charges, taxes and breakfast etc.).
This is part of the Terms and Conditions for the Easyjethotels DDG. The key phrase for me is the room must "the same room type". It does not state that the discriptions, on the different retailers sites, must discribe the room the same way. As long as you can prove the room being offered is the same room type on both comparable sites (Easyjethotels and the cheaper comparative site) it is fair. I am not a lawyer but have some legal training and this is my honest interpretation.

I'm very happy now
I just had a call from customer services to tell me that my claim has been approved. They called me as I am checking in tomorrow!!
I will get a total refund (she said within 3-5 days!) after my stay this weekend.
Hurray!!
I took a real chance on this one as it is too late to cancel.
Staying in Edinburgh (as previously posted on here) at the 4* Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, on Easyjethotels it was £1146 (so obviously I had to put that on my credit card!!), On Superbreak it was £450 and on Hotelconnect.co.uk it is £353 !!
I'm not sure which one they accepted as they were both below half the price anyway, but definitely one of those websites.
Easyjethotels - Double standard room, 2 persons, inc Scottish breakfast for 3 nights, from 16th Feb.
Superbreak and Hotel Connect - Double room, 2 persons, full breakfast for 3 nights from 16th Feb.
I hope this helps others!!
What a great original post from TBeckett100 and everyone in between!!
Thanks a lot guys!

Good for u crd3000! So can I ask you which comparison site did easyjet hotel honour? superbreak or hotelconnect?0
-
I don't know sorry
( I haven't had an email, just a phone call.
I firstly sent in the claim using Superbreak as the comparison, but they asked for a screenshot because the hotel was no longer available on Superbreak, so i sent that in and also sent in a screen shot of the hotelconnect site and told them that was cheaper then, so not sure I'm afraid.
I would like to know as well so will try and find out and post here when I know.
Thanks for your support Christal by the way)
