if anyone can spot a very cheap deal for barcelona 17-20 (3 nites) in May, having a bit of a mare looking today.0

Try Vincci Condal Mar, easyjet price £665 for 3 nights B&B, DIY Travel price £364 for B&B, but watch out about the different prices on DIY Travel as I remember someone was complaining that easyjet wants to compare on the base of higher price when there are several prices listed on the comparison site.0

Or try Confortel Almirantee, easyjet price £805 for 3 nights B&B, DIY Travel price £4450

bobstheboy wrote:I do not agree. I am having this argument with Easyjethotels regarding my booking in July to Paris (see earlier post). DIYTravell had quoted two different prices at the time I booked with Easyjethotels i.e.
Double/Twin Superior £490.40
Double/Twin (Superior) £654
Easyjethotels want to base the price difference on the dearest quote. I have contacted DIYTravel who state (I have an Email) that the rooms are identical. The reason for the two rates is different suppliers. Their computer showed both suppliers rates, which has now been amended and they have changed their terms and conditions to explain why this may occur.
My argument is that I could have booked an identical room at the time of booking for £490.40, and paid £907.
I will let you know the outcome but I cannot see how they cannot accept this reasoning and would consider Small Claims Court action if they refuse.

I can understand your frustration Bob, but your situ is slightly different.
Dusan was wanting to compare
Double (low price)
or
twin (low price)
with easyjets double/twin standard (high price)
when the other site also had an EXACT match ie double/twin standard (nearly high price)
Personally, in the above case I think a refusal would be fair.(Your case slightly different if both quotes were for Double/twin superior)
Although do you really want to go down the road of civil action ?
Even if they refuse. Sit tight, keep checking. You can cancel for £15 and rebook again in a month from your claim for a CERTAIN MATCH
Court action , Im sure will kill the goose laying the golden egg.0 -
Budgetflyer, I don't completely agree with you on Dusan's case, as the first claim I made with easyjet was a similar case, the comparison website was travelrepublic, they listed the room price exactly like Dusan described:
Double xxx
Twin xxx
Double/Twin xxx
And the double/twin price was at least 50% more than the separately listed double, twin price. But easyjet didn't try to argue just accept the claim, I think they now have a different set of strategy in place because of the volume of the claim. So they will use every possible reason to refuse the claim, and unfortunately while the room price is listed at above, I agree their refusal is on some ground. So you just have to be very careful when you spot the cheap deal and try to avoid anything like this..0 -

My point is that if you can prove the room being advertised by an alternative web site is an identical room, and all conditions are met, then legally you are on a winner. I can prove this and have told them just that (without threatening legal action !)
I do agree that legal action is extreme but will not state publically what I would do (for obvious reasons).
Bob
I have rung them today and the man who answered just said it wasn't his department and I would be contacted.0 -
Hi all.
I've just been messing around with https://www.hotelscomparison.com and thought I'd see if there were any cheap or bargain deals to be had in New York using EasyJetHotels' guarantee.
QuickRooms have got the Embassy Suites for a fair bit cheaper than EasyJetHotels for most periods I've checked, the later on in the year, the bigger the difference seems to be. If anyone is going to NYC around 16 November, the possibility of a freebie is there.
For example, 16-19 November EJH is £1401, QuickRooms is £698.80.
Embassy Suites is rated no. 14 out of 326 on TripAdvisor so looks an even better bargain! This space has been intentionally left blank0 -
Hi everyone,
What a fantastic thread!:D Thanks so much.
I'm going to Milan at the beginning of March so I followed the tips on here and managed to find a hotel that Easyhotel had down as £363 for the stay and quickrooms.com had down as £169.66!
I thought I had a free hotel and quickly sent in my claim but they have just emailled me back to say that the price they can see on quickrooms.com is £331 not £169.
I've just looked again and it is definately £169.66, the same hotel is £169 on octopus travel aswell. They haven't even asked me for screen shots; they have just said that they have sent the claim to head office to refund double the difference between £331 and £363.
I have replied to the email(from hotelopia) attaching my screenshots of both websites. Is this all I need to do?
I'm worried about waiting for a reply and then them saying it's no longer within 24 hours so my claim is invalid. :eek:Debt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_
Current debt- 0 :j Final payment made October 2012.0
