i only use yodel for deliveries from one company (myprotein since you ask) and have never had a problem with them. infact, they're sometimes quicker than dpd.

it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
My personal opinion is that, if you have ordered something for delivery, you have the responsibility to either be in, or ensure you have somewhere safe to leave your parcels
Agreed, but surely the delivery company should also have a responsibility to make a reasonable attempt at making a delivery and not just to keep using the "we couldn't find your address" excuse.
This has also happened to me on 2 occasions (It was Yodel both times), and I live in an extremely easy to find house that appears on the database of both Garmin and TomTom satnav systems, and is located on a main road with all house numbers sequential and easy to spot from the road.0 -

Fine - but only if the delivery company does what DPD do, and gives you a one hour delivery slot.
If DPD can manage it, why can't all the others?0 -

If you want them to do that, pay more for your deliveries. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

i am with a firm which up untill recently used ups then switched to yodel as it was a better price to send goods, However after 3 months we have had non stop complaints from our cutomers. due to things not arriving next day or badly damaged sp we complained to yodel as a company that ships 300 parcels a day yodel said to us "our express 24 service is not a next day guarateed service" then what about the by 12 service we asked " Well all that means is we will try our best to deliver it by 12" we were then told if you want it guaranteed next day you have to select the priority 10 service which costs 5 times as much oh and they can only do by 10am service to one 3rd of the country. Needless to say we will be going back to ups we would rather pay more carriage then loose customers. Hopefully the likes of amazon etc will notice all there complaints and follow suite0

I'd tell you a joke about Yodel, but you probably wouldn't get it.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

As a courier myself who worked for dpd 5 years ago and currently works for ups i speak to various drivers at different companies. Yodel drivers tell me they have taken on lots of business by offering cheap deals but dont have the volume of drivers to dispatch, so it sits in the warehouse for days backing up.
Being impartial i find small businesses who use ups may be put off by our prices once they start getting quotes from other companies(saving a pound or so). What always happens is they come back to ups a month or two later when they realise its worth paying the extra pound or so knowing it will be there tomorrow and on time.
When i see how overworked and underpaid some of the other drivers are its no wonder they dont really care too much about going out of there way to deliver.
I think ups as a company realise this and just let other companies have their business for a month or two and just await them coming back moaning about other carriers.
ups drivers are well paid, have good working conditions and are expected to go that extra mile whereothers dont.
Pay peanuts and get monkeys work.0 -

Couldn't agree with you more. When tanker drivers are picking up £45K pa (and planning a strike) it's about time delivery drivers had a fairer deal.
I'd happily pay a bit more for a better service, and a better deal for the drivers.0
