So how would a thread warn someone when people dont read them before ordering?
A bit less time name calling and inserting smilies may serve you well in future.
Would it be 'perdantic' to point out the spelling is pedantic?
how very perdantic off you
shows real integrity that.
if your so self sufficient;......then go f''k yourself:rotfl:0 -

Been waiting a while for a delivery from Sports Direct, when I eventually got a text on Friday 7.22am from Yodel saying it's on it's way and will be delivered in next 2 days. Excellent I thought, highly unlikely it will be here that morning after just getting a text so I'll take the dog out for her walk. Get home about 11 am and they've tried to deliver! Then a text 12.04pm, sorry couldn't deliver, ring our driver to arrange another time.
Just for future reference, when Yodel text to say they have a delivery for you that means it's actually on the van and out for delivery that day. They have to cover themselves by stating it could take up to two days in case of any delays. In my experience they always aim to deliver the same day though.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

I'm pretty sure the texts I've had have indicated that the day of the text is the most likely delivery day. My Yodel drivers fine though, he asked me one day if he could leave things in an outbuilding which I'm happy with so I've never had a problem with Yodel.0 -

My mum has had a number of parcels delivered by yodel and everytime it has been a nightmare. There was the time the delivery guy had signed for the parcel on behalf of my mum and then not delivered it until several days later when we threatened legal action at the depot. There are the times that the online tracker claims that the courier could not gain access to the address (my mum lives in sheltered accommodation and it is as simple as going up to the front door and pressing the bell with her number on it, hardly rocket science). The time the courier claimed to have stopped by but nobody was in, this was a time my mum had a broken leg and there was no possible way she was out or didn't hear the doorbell that you can actually hear if sitting in any of the flats in her block because it is that loud. Currently though my favourite is the time she received a text message saying the courier had picked up her package from the depot and giving her his number to let him know if it was not convenient to deliver as it was 3 days earlier than we expected, she did contact him to say there was a brief period where she was out at the hospital but that she would be in and gave him the times. The parcel was not delivered and we tracked it and found that apparently he had left a card. To do this someone in the block of apartments would have to have let him in so that was an outright lie. Then there were the lovely text messages my mum received when trying to find out when she would get the package (a laptop as it happens) and she was told by the delivery driver that he finishes when he likes and he might deliver it tomorrow. As it turns out he didn't deliver it the next day despite the depot assuring my mum that they had spoken to him and he would be round with the parcel. He then, quite helpfully, texted my mum to say that he might bring it round or he might not (although his version was not spelt quite like that). My mum was very upset (as you can imagine, it's not nice for an elderly lady to be held to ransom by an illiterate courier) and so she showed me the messages. I texted the couriers number explaining that depriving the client of the parcel which he was contracted to deliver was theft and if we were not in receipt of the parcel in perfect condition OR it had not been returned to the depot in perfect condition by a certain time the following day then I would have to take legal action. Imagine my surprise when he telephoned me within 3 minutes of me sending the text and left several voice mail messages asking me to call him. As I didn't wish to get into a 'he said she said ' position I decided to once again text and said that there was nothing more to say and that I would be in contact with the client and the depot in the morning and wished him good night.
I have nothing against independent delivery drivers and there are lots of drivers out there who are amazing. It's just a shame that none of them seem to work for Yodel.0 -

Funny he didn't say that isn't it!~Chameleon~ wrote: »Just for future reference, when Yodel text to say they have a delivery for you that means it's actually on the van and out for delivery that day. Just for the record now, I was never unhappy about the attempted delivery, I'm not sure why people have fixated on that. I was merely setting the scene with the full timeline of events to save any ambiguity.Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Some people seem to think that Praise, Vent & Warnings means that a post must have all three elements to it. Erm ... no. It can be any one, two or all three.
Savvy's post fell into the middle category.0 -
I soo hate Yodel.
Can't even arrange to collect when I they haven't even bothered leaving a calling card.
I hope they go under.0
