Yodel delivery services - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Yodel van parked up, stuck a sorry you were out note and drove off before I got to the door - caught on CCTV. DHL is owned by Deutsche Post, don't think they are merged with Home Delivery Network ?? HDN pretty useless though.
Another one I don't like is Hermes which is used by Next, Freemans, BHS and Holland and Barrett.0 -
I feel sorry for Yodel... although I try to avoid them at all costs! Anyone remember when they where White Arrow...?0

Ordered an item through ebay from america as cant get it in the uk,was supposed to be delivered between 20th & 26th of november -Did not arrive ,but carried on patiently waiting and checking the tracking info, when i checked the tracking on the 29th it said my item had been "delivered through letterbox" on the 28th @ 15:38, "LIES" there were 4 people in my house at that time & no one came & the item would not even fit through the letterbox ,i am extremely dissapointed & frustrated as the item was a xmas present that i cannot just go and get again in time for xmas,I have contacted yodel & the company they are delivering on behalf of and apparantly they are going to investigate so we'll see what comes of it but reading other reviews really dont hold out any hope.0

I order online a lot around Christmas as I hate how busy my shopping centre gets. All of my parcels have been delivered by yodel and I always make sure I'm in for delivery. Not once has it come to my house!! On 7 occasions it has been sent to another neighbour 5 doors away, luckily he's brought it round for me as they don't ever come to my door I call to see where they've left it and all they give is a name not a door number!! Since 3/1/14 I've been playing phone tag with them and topshop to see who 'Alex' was and why they had my package when I was in all day. I called them after going online to see where it was and seeing it had been delivered. The man was very apologetic and had said it was unacceptable and he would call me within the hour to give me the door number rather than a name, he didn't. I called again the next morning and the lady told me to knock at every house on my street. When I pay £4.95 delivery I do not expect to be doing their job! I did as I wanted to know where MY stuff was, out of 45 houses not one person claimed to have it. I called again this morning Rather than giving me a door number They said the delivery driver had been told to collect the parcel from this Alex person and deliver it to me so again I had to wait around. Did he show? Of course not. I spoke to the manager of the yodel call centre this evening and she said it wasn't her problem I'm topshops customer not theirs! Rude cow. I hung up rather than swearing at her like I wanted to. I contacted topshop and the man was some what helpful. I got a full refund and 15% off my next order, but what was supposed to be delivered was no longer in stock. So they've either had it for themselves or someone else has got £100 worth of clothes that rightfully belonged to me!! Why should me and topshop be at a loss because of their crappy company?! Wrote an email detailing this and am yet to get a response. It will probably be generic.0

The woman was right, you have no contract with yodel.
No point in complaining to Yodel as you're not their customer and won't get anywhere.0 -

Because Topshop chose them?0 -
Booked a delivery slot with K&Co for an item to arrive between 7-12 today. 11:45 get an email from Yodel saying the driver attempted delivery. Big mistake. I work from home and can clearly see outside the front of my house to see if anyone tries to make a delivery. After a phone call to Kays and a refund of delivery costs, I then phoned Yodel and told them what happened and that their driver was a liar for saying he attempted delivery. Long and short of it all .... am waiting with anticipation for the driver to arrive in the next 30min looking very sheepish.January Grocery Challenge 2016 = £119.41/£250.00

Well I've finally had my first experience of Yodel after hearing many poor stories about them......and I have to join them after the rubbish attitude of the driver.
Been waiting a while for a delivery from Sports Direct, when I eventually got a text on Friday 7.22am from Yodel saying it's on it's way and will be delivered in next 2 days. Excellent I thought, highly unlikely it will be here that morning after just getting a text so I'll take the dog out for her walk. Get home about 11 am and they've tried to deliver! Then a text 12.04pm, sorry couldn't deliver, ring our driver to arrange another time.
As I really needed the parcel for the weekend and they said it would be delivered over the next two days (Fri & Sat) I rang hoping to get a redelivery the next day. The miserable huffy puffy driver said he wouldn't be in the area again until Monday, so I said well can I come out to you, he agreed and said the are he lived (which was only 2 miles from where I live!), I said not a problem.
He told me to ring him at 5pm, but I couldn't as meeting an MP, so he agreed to me ringing him after 6pm as he'd be back home then. Duly rang him at 6.01pm after my appointment..........no answer. So knowing how this was going to play out, I decided to give up and save myself the stress
He's just turned up now (so at least thankfully I don't have to wait the whole day), miserable as anything, no apology, no chat about the delivery.....nothing.
And to top it all, okay so the giant Sports Direct mug is a freebie, but the handle is smashed to smithereens despite it being wrapped in bubblewrap and 2 cardboard boxes!! I guess I just have to be thankful it arrived heyHonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. So this item you need.
They text you to say its coming and you go out.
They pay low 'wages' and put the onus on drivers to deal with redelivery etc
You had your delivery within the time spec. The redelivery is extra work for the driver. I suggest you buy from retailers using more costly couriers if you want higher standards.0 -
Had a classic yodel delivery last week.
Courier pulled out blue bin, wheeled down to my front door, and put the parcel behind it.
Both the parcel and the fact the bin was out of alignment were fully visible from the road.
I complained to the retailer and now have switched the majority of purchases I make with them to another who offer DPD for £1.
This retailer used to offer DPD free but since they have now changed to Yodel/Hermes for free delivery I won't do the majority of my shopping with them. They still offer DPD but at £3.95.
Compared to DPD there is no difference in delivery time to be fair, and I have had problems with the retailer at their end, but the service is so much worse overall.
That Yodel delivery was just the final nail in the coffin!0
