I thought that the service centres were the depots where the packages get delivered to and processed and where the delivery staff pick them up from.

I also presumed it was the local service centre which is just 10 minutes away!!!!

it is. only hermes allow storage of parcels in ones garage
  • Yodel sent my package back to England from Scotland rather than knock a neighbour's door. Great. Anyone seen the abuse on their Facebook page? Man, that's a lot of abuse?
  • Yodel sent my package back to England from Scotland rather than knock a neighbour's door.

This may be down to the person or company who sent the goods rather than Yodel.
The sender can specify one of 3 options for delivery:

1/ No signature required in which case the driver can leave the item in a safe place.

2/ A signature required which can be the addressee or a neighbour.

3/ A signature required but only from someone at the address the package is meant for.

If the sender specified 1 or 2, it would in in Yodels interest to have left the package with a neighbour as it would save them from having to attempt a redelivery.
  • Rather angry. These people came to deliever a parcel today. My husband had gone out and as I am disabled I was unable to get downstairs. The doorbell was rung without chance for a response the door was viciously banged on before being flung open. I had no clue what was going on heard shouting and thought I was being broken in to. Heard th person go in to the living room thanks to a noisy stairgate.

No one broke in the delivery driver however let himself in and not just to post the parcel behind the door he actually came in to my house and after having a wonder about left the parcel in my kitchen.

I foud the whole thing distressing as it caused a panic attack and the helpful response was the delivery driver probably thought he was doing me a favour- by coming in to my house and touching my belongings I don't think so!!! I've told them I want my complaint dealt with and them telling me that they can't tell me what they are going to do about it is not acceptable. I've gone to littlewoods and they too have passed it on to yodel but still no phone call back from yodel. Apart from going to the police an reporting him for trespassing I'm really at a loss for what to do!

I'm now also an unhappy Yodel customer - ordered a book from The Book People on December 10th. Got the dispatch note, with the tracking page link to Yodel. On Saturday evening at around 9pm I checked the Yodel tracking page, to find out that apparently my parcel had been delivered to me at 5pm that day. Erm no, it hasn't. I was in all day, and at 5pm my living room lights were on and the car was in the driveway. No-one knocked at my door, or left a card. I checked around the property/in the bins etc, just in case they'd left it in a safe place. Nope. I've checked with the neighbours, no-one has taken my parcel for me.

As I don't have a card with a reference number from Yodel, I can't do anything on Yodel's pages re tracking etc.

However, the Book People have told me they will arrange for another book to be sent out to me (they say in time for Christmas, I say probably not to be honest) once they have a reply from Yodel as to where exactly they put my parcel, as then they can take lost parcel action.

Its day 2 since I made the Book People aware and since they sent their first email to Yodel. I'll call them again tomorrow. I've used Amazon a lot in the last month or so, and not had anything go missing yet, but first order with The Book People, and Yodel have messed up.

i know, thats why i'm surprised and disappointed that Yodel has messed up with my Book People order.
  • The subject says it all!

Ordered Ted Baker shirt online on 20-Dec, heard nothing by 25-Nov and checked Yodel website to say delivery attempted on 24-Nov and left a card (lying toe-rags)...

Opened a case with Ted Baker and they finally respond with an update on 28-Dec to say item would be re-delivered on 29-Nov.

By 30-Nov there was no update no order and no indication of anything. Called Ted Baker and was told that the order had gone missing... No one at Yodel had bothered to tell Ted Baker and the clowns at Ted Baker didn't seem too concerned to follow up with me.

Finally by this evening eventually got through to Ted Baker to advise them that Xmas is messed up, Visa is processing chargeback. One of the assistants has been gracious enough to offer a refund and even a 20% discount voucher (which I had originally used)...

What a waste. If you order from these muppets then do make sure you don't end up with Yodel.... Pair of muppets and starring in an #omnishambles of an operation.... Luckily John Lewis has Ted Baker and the staff are far more helpful, just not sure I can be bothered with the brand...

If you're one of the lucky ones - well done!!!

    Mark.

further to my ongoing problem with Yodel, and 3 days after the Book People emailed them on my behalf, Yodel replied to the Book People saying they would arrange delivery - so clearly they didn't attempt delivery yet at all, despite the parcel being dispatched to them on 13th, and them saying themselves on their website that they delivered the item on Saturday at 5pm!

The lady at the Book People didn't seem at all surprised by any of this, she's sending another book out to me tomorrow free of charge to me, via Parcelforce.

eta - you'll never guess who was just at the door - Yodel with my book!!!!!
