But why? They did the job they were paid to do, but you seem to be disappointed about that; just because they knocked on your door. Unbelievable!
I read it that they weren't so happy that he knocked on their two neighbours' doors immediately after theirs without giving them time to answer.

time is all relative
waiting 1 minute longer on each drop of a 100 drop duty is a lot of time
its a busy time with a relatively low paid courier
they want that packet gone ASAP0 -
I'm not sure I agree with couriers leaving parcels with neighbours at all, certainly not where I live anyway - the stuff would probably have been put on ebay within the hour.0

Last December Yodel kept updating my delivery status to delivered, yet they had clearly left the parcel at their depot, in the end after waiting 3 weeks for a next day delivery parcel I had to drive 30 miles to the depot to collect myself, needless to say, any company choosing to use them no longer has my custom. They made no attempt to deliver, I even spotted the van down my close a few times during that 3 weeks! disgusting service.Win Totals 2013 £3331 / 2014 £4815 / 2015 £3067 / 2016 £5617 / 2017-2023 £4106 / 2024 £2500 OVER £23K!!0

Courier knocks on customer's door-no answer, rings door bell-no answer. Leaves door, walks down path onto street, walks down neighbour's path and knocks on neighbours door. Courier then leaves neighbour's door and walks back down path, back onto street. Courier walks down Neighbour 2's path, knocks on door and waits. Customer then opens their door.
I think there is a good indication as to how long it took customer to open their door; how much longer do you think he should have waited. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

In which case, you need to tell your suppliers that. Without you doing that, the courier will not know? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

This is quite amusing, I wish I had the luxury of a garden path and I expect my neighbours' do too! Thank you for gifting us the luxury of these huge front gardens and paths! I live in a row of terraces which step straight out onto the pavement, I can assure you I only took a few seconds to open my front door, the courier literally banged on the 3 doors in succession without giving me any time at all to answer. Being in a terrace I could hear how close together the knocks were, he obviously just wanted to see who answered first so he could offload the parcel to anyone.0 -

Yeah, done that. The only couriers that take no notice is guess who? Yodel. Oh and Hermes.
I don't use either anymore if I can help it but unfortunately Amazon occasionally use them which is a pain.0 -

As I understand it, Amazon use these couriers about sixty per cent of the time.
But then, just because you tell your suppliers something, that is no guarantee that hey will pass that information onto the couriers. Perhaps a note on your door, informing any couriers of your wishes. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

You'd be amazed, the Hermes lady must have flown to my neighbour last week because she most certainly knocked and ran, giving me no chance to answer.0
