We could make comparisons to all sorts of situations and smells, and what to do and what not to do all day long.

As for the OP, i'd politely ask if they would mind smoking at the other end of the garden if it was possible, I wouldn't mind being asked personally. Other than that, I don't know!

And this is the point. There isn't anything else the OP can do, other than to try and deal with any lingering smells there may be.

You only know how distasteful it is, because people are so vocal about the smell of smoke. People don't tend to be so vocal about the smell of food.

But, even if they were, I wouldn't expect anyone to not eat/prepare a particular meal because I couldn't stand the smell of it. That is MY issue, not theirs.

To be fair, if someone was cooking pork I would have to complain, might as well cook human! :(

From what you have told me, yeah.

As i've said so many times in this thread, I smoke in my garden so I can't possibly tell anyone to not smoke on their own property. I do however whenever I am in public or outside, make sure I am as far away from other people and their property as I can. There is nothing more I can do.

My comments are towards the people that stand in front of shops, bus stops and directly underneath peoples windows and so-on. I can't stand it.

Really? The smell? Or, the fact that it's pork?

I tend to just ignore the smells, stick the extractor fan on and spray some Oust if it gets really bad. But, it tends to dissipate quickly. Particularly when I then cook not long after, covering up the smell.

This has to be the most bizarre thread I have read on this site to date. I am genuinely amazed at the OP's outrage. Please don't attack me for putting my view here but I think if this is what is bugging someone so much that they have to post a message on a forum about it, they must have a pretty good life.

    Slightly odd comment.

They don't want to smell smoke in their own home, nothing wrong with that. How on earth does that suggest the are leading a "pretty good life"?
