Actually I want to help the OP, although many people in this forum are just making patronising, and unhelpful remarks, whilst trying to defend the bank.

The fact is that I know how poorly Barclays treat their customers, as I have been a victim.

And it is you who now looks foolish for not reading posts, because I was asking MME who actually told us they work in a bank. So don't try and give me your smug patronising advice.

You also [STRIKE]asked[/STRIKE] accused a number of people who disagreed with you but who apparently do not work for banks.

Hoist by your own petard rather?

Incidentally, site rules are "be nice to all moneysavers"; calling people foolish, smug, patronising as you have just done to me, and as you have done to others is a bit silly. You should stop it, take a deep breath, leave the PC for a bit.

You're just digging yourself deeper into petty battles.

The purpose of this is to not alert a potential offender. Don't you realise they've done exactly that by removing all the money from his account?

And (if it turns out to be money laundering) prevented it happening.

It will be interesting to see what Barclays say when the money is returned. Have you called up the CC company and explained why they weren't paid this month?

Don't think Barclays, or any bank, go out of their way to treat their customers poorly. In a service organisation you are always going to get errors/ misunderstandings, defaults, poor advice, told no, people unhappy with the cost etc. at some time.

Ask anyone in a service industry role and they also tell you when things go wrong it is never one thing it is usually bucket loads at once.

All banks deal with 100000s of transactions every day for 100000s of customers. The level of real disatisfaction is low and I would say comparable as a percenatge to the other banks give or take. I would hazard an informed guess for instance that ATM availability runs at 95%+ but we only remember the one time it doesn't pay out.

Unfortunately it is the way of the world where we labour the worst bits.

Asking MME who he works for is irrelevant as they all do it, lead spotting/lead generation - unless you tell them to stop it.

    Exactly!!

If they had done it the way that Lloyds TSB do, then the OP would have been non the wiser.

Don't you read other peoples posts who obviously work or have worked in the industry, and in this field in particular?.

None of the banks are allowed to communicate with their customers on this.

The same could be said for you.

I think you would probably get a job in the Barclays customer service department.
