Well it will be sorted soon. What have you done in the meantime about getting money to live on?

To cary out more preliminary checks, including speaking to their customer. Rather than just a case of 'the computer says no'.

The law says they MUST NOT TALK to the customer in respect of a money laundering check. Which bit of that do you not understand? I can see that you may think the law is wrong but surely you can understand what it is.

It's the weekend. Maybe there is no one at work who has the authority to sort it out.

I know it sounds empty but take a step back.

It is not personal. (I can accept it doesn't feel like that right now)

There is little you can do until they replace the money, then get angry if you need to.

It is currently outside your control.

The bank did not invent the regulations.

I had a run in with MBNA recently - don't owe them a jot, which was probably the problem. So I can empathise a little.:(

You keep repeating the same thing. We know now how you feel, and we sympathise. What are you doing now for money to live on until the bank returns your deposit?

It might seem ridiculous to you, we understand that, but, Barclays have to do whatever it takes to satisfy themselves that the money is from a legitimate source. They can't just take your word for it !
