From an earlier thread where Yorkshire Bank have delayed providing statements, it was suggested that I report them to the commissioner.
Could someone provide details of how I should do this please.
thanks in advance

I am hoping somebody could answer the above and indeed offer some advice to move my claim forward....
I applied for my statements from the Nat West on the 28th Feb using the template on here and enclosing a £10 cheque and sending recorded delivery.
40 days (and nights!) later still not received anything, so contacted my branch who said they had never received my request as they 'always write recoreded deliveries down in a book'!!?
Ok i said, where has my letter and chq gone......(chq actually hadn't been cashed).
Any way contacted Royal Mail and to cut a long story short they (the branch) had received it as it had been signed for on 6/3/07....
Well i have many phone calls with the Branch Manager promising to get my statements as a matter of urgency and now having got quite irate at their obvious disorganisation, i have received my statements in 2 batches.
The end of it ........NO!!
They have sent me 27/2/01 to 4/10/02 and 5/1/05 to present day!!!!!!!!!
Some advice would be greatly appreciated as i feel i am going to explode any time soon and we are now into May......0 -
I have sent my letter off to my bank requesting my statements with the statuary 40 days stated but after two phone calls and reminder letter the 40days have past and still no statements.this means further action is needed just to get my statements for the past six years.
Could anyone who has had this much trouble touble just getting their statements please tel me what happened next.
Gratefully

I first wrote to the halifax asking for my statements on the 5th of March (unfortunately i sent it normal post!). 2 wks ago I sent them another letter asking for the statements again giving them 2 weeks to reply. the 2 wks end this Friday. I called them up last week and someone filled out some form and i was told thet i should get my statements this week. I 've just called them agin to check and have now been told they've only just got round to my request and that they have 8 weeks to send me my statements!
Is this true or should i report them to the information commissioner? and if so how do I prove that i first wrote to Halifax on the 5th of March?0 -
I sent my letter 40 days ago requesting 6 years staements for my current account using the template later to the data Protection Dept. Barclays acknowledged it and returned my £10 cheque stating that they do not charge for this service (Barclays? NOT charge??). Forty days later (today) I recieved a copy statement for March 2007 for my business account which I have closed and am not claiming charges on. Tomorrow I will ring them and then make the complaint to the Information Commissioner. I'm guessing that they will say that it was an error and ask me to resend the letter and the cheque starting the 40 days again from when they recieve the cheque. Anyone had anything similar from Barclays?Regards

Hi,
I sent a letter to Barclays using the Data Protection address for Barclays listed on the help thread.
How long does it take for them to reply with the statements. I sent the letter two weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone have a phone number for them that i can ring regarding this?
Much appreciated.

Yeah sent by registered post. Wanna give them a ring though, make sure they know i'll be ready to make a big fuss if i don't receive anything within 40 days.0

Hi Martin, i wrote to halifax bank to ask for the last 6 years bank statements, i sent a cheque like you instructed for £10.00 with the letter, but they have'nt responded. It has been more than 40 days, they have'nt even cashed my cheque that i sent. What do i do now? please help.0

What happens in this situation.
HSBC took more than 60 days to send mine, and at that I went into the branch and the manager requested them on the spot and 3 days later they all turned up.
Can i claim more? or can I just use it as a bit of a threat to get them to pay up faster? or is it irrelevant?
Any feedback would be grealty appreciated0
