I sent a letter requesting statements and then rang them a week later to give them a friendly nudge and they were fine, nothing had actually been processed thier end so they ordered them while i was on the phone, it also took less than 10 days for me to recieve them..They did also say that it would take no longer than 14 days as they have been busy with requests (strangely enough lol)
Just stick to your time plan, dont give them any extra time. You will be fine.TrishaWhen I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Hi
Just thought everyone would like to know that after phoning my bank ( the bank of scotland) as I had not received my statements within the 40 days I have discovered that they are trialing a new scheme, They have admitted to me that then cannot keep to the deadlines set so are now talking details over the phone. Bacially you confirm your intention to claim back charges they fill in a form and someone will call you.0 -

Always check if you can download statements with online banking and/or camp outside your local bank
All banks seem to be struggling getting out the info within the 40 days and although you can't specifically complain before the 40 days are up, as the previous two posters have suggested phone them up and find out what is happening.0 -

I wrote to my bank 5 or 6 weeks ago asking for a list of all my charges, which I reckon to be about 4 grand. I have had no reply. Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do next ? :cool:0

give them a ring to find out whats going on. If they say they havent received the letter cancel the first cheque you sent and send the letter again but take it in and request a receipt to say they have received it. I got mine quite quick but my brother had to chase the bank for his by phoning. I have been sending everthing recorded delivery aswell so i can prove that they have received the letters I have sent.0

You need to keep phoning and badgering the bank for the info.0 -
My situation is that I have sent off for my statements over 40 days ago . Two weeks ago I recieved from 2000 to 2001 , I phoned and asked them where the last 6 years was and was told that they should arrive shortly , nothing has arrived for a week so I later then phoned up 5 days later and was told they would "call me back" , I didnt recieve a phone call and called them up again , they said that the statements are being re ordered and yesterday , guess what arrives... 2000 to 2001 again. So i made yet another phonecall and was told that they will be arriving . I cant see them sending them EVER!.
My account isnt in very good shape , being a student im £600 over drawn and have recently stopped re paying my loan I got when I was 18 for £3000 . Im now 23 and still owe £2200 Ive decided not to make any more payments of the 100 a month as I know im not soley paying intrest. They told me that there going to DEFAULT my account ... Do you think this is effecting my bank charges ? and When they do DEFAULT it will it mean I will be unable to claim the charges back.
Any help much appreicated .
Darren
You can complain to the Information Commissioner about the delay in receiving your details. Regardless of how you have conducted your account, or it ending up defaulted, you can still reclaim the charges.
Unfortunately you are at the trickiest stage of the process, actually getting all your details to check through. A letter, recorded delivery, to advise you are making complaint to the ICO may help speed them up a bit. Good luck0
