Hi i have been following the procedures to get bank my bank charges from the HBOS and TSB but i dont know what to do next.
I have sent the 1st letter to HBOS asking for my statements for last 6 years and received a letter saying they would be coming seperately, they havent arrived so i caled again they were pretty unhelpful but said there is a 50 day back log and i should still get them. it has been 63 working days since i first sent my request should i just wait? i thought they had 40 days?

i did receive all my statements from the TSB, so i worked out all the charges + interest and sent off the 2nd letter but have heard nothing at all, thats been nearly 4 weeks, i thought they had 14 days?
im just unsure whether i should just wait or take further action? i dont seem to get anywhere when i phone them.
thanks

Hi
I have sent my letter asking for the information to be sent tp me. barclys have had 40 days but i have had no response or the cheque cashed. what steps do i take now?:0 -

After been told my past statements have been microfiched I have now written again, requesting all my statements for the past six years and stated that they no longer have 40 days, as time has elapsed since my first letter.
Can't wait to see what the next excuse is!! I have the past 14 months statements and they have already charged me £1100, so for the remaining 5 years it must be aprox £6000. Think they know this and are reluctant to release the statements. If they don't get back to me with the details then I will report them to the ombudsman. PLEASE PLEASE I really could do with some help finding out how you can claim the charges back if the banks don't let you know how much they have charged you.
So, when you wrote the original letter giving them 40 days, did thy not reply atall?? If this is the case, i would report them straight to the Information Commisioner. Alternatively, you could just start the process again if you wish. Use the standard letters on this forum and if they do not respond then, again go to the Info Comm. They can't choose whether to give you the info just becuase it is a large amount of money, and i wouldn't have though thats the problem anyway as the person sending these statements aren't the decision makers anyway.
As for the microfiche thing, as I stated with the person previously, its not your problem how they choose to archive their paperwork, you just have a problem that you expect to be put right and its up to them how they choose to do it as long as it is within the 40 day timescale.

You can either send them another letter reminding them that their 40 days is up and they have 7 days to get in touch with you or you will report them to the information commissioner or just report them now.0 -
hi, i asked via the template letter for a copies of all my statements for the last 6 years, however lloyds have returned me a about 4 pages of what they say are the charges from the last 6 years (no statements just a list of charges, just amounts and when and stating i can now proceed to the next step of reclaiming this amount they owe me. and have accepted my £10 fee
I did not want this and i am sure they owe me more than this, if i had copies of the statements that i asked for i could check this for myself, what can i do to get what i asked for which was the statements and not believeing lloyds bank are honest enough to truely list all they owe me, seems they are in a rush to give me back they money. would you trust this figure or like me would want to check the information you actually requested.
please advise.
thanx in advance0 -

The fact that they haven't cashed the cheque would suggest to me that they didn't recv the letter. Did you send it recorded, special or anything like that??Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0 -

Egg tried this with me! They sent me a list of charges and dates, and i didn't trust them either.
I re-sent the first letter, this time asking them to provide me with ALL information pertaining to my acct, including any charges. They then sent me every single thing, even down to screen prints from their database recording each time i had called them and conversations i'd had. I sifted through all the info pulling out the relevant stuff, and unfortunately, i came out with the same amount as they had sent me originally. It may be worth doing this anyway, to make sure they aren't trying to hide anything. It's your information, so they shouldn't pick what they allow you to look at. It may mean a bit of a trawl for you though depending on how much information they send you.Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0 -

Always check if you can download statements with online banking and/or camp outside your local bank
The letter asking for information/statements should really be sent to the address in post 1 in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature, however as you have now waited 40 days I would phone the branch and/or send the above letter.0
