If you have access to your account online, you can get 5 years statements - just print them off - you'll get the statements off them eventually, but you can start with the online ones.LBM 22nd February 2007 - Amount in debt £72,242.23:confused: one month on  £63,900;) 2nd month 60,000.09

Hi,
After submitting the first letter to Barclays requesting details of charges some 37 days ago, I still have not received any correspondence from them. The £10 cheque I enclosed to cover these costs has not been banked either. It is now approaching the 40 day cut off response time from them.
Any suggestions?0 -
They have cashed my £10 cheque which I sent requesting the list of transactions and charges, does that mean I will receive them? It has been over the 40 days, I rang them last week and they said it could take 5/6 weeks??????
Sorry but I don,t always understand all this jargon banks send out0 -

It is possible your letter hasnt actually got to the bank or it is sitting in a huge pile of correspondence waiting to be opened. Did you send it recorded delivery and do you know if it was actually received ? Unless you know the bank received it and deliberately have not acted yet for whatever reason I dont think there is much you can do but keep waiting.
It would be a pain to have to reissue the request and the cheque (stopping the first one ) but this may be your only option. I'd advise to send it recorded delivery next time to keep track. Good luck0 -
Phone the number on the bottom of the letter they sent you and ask for "copy statements dept" then get the persons name you are speaking to, then tell them that you think thier has been a "misunderstanding" that thier letters to you are incorrect and that they are in fact breaching the DPA. Ask them whats happening politely and when you can expect your statements. Mention that you have been a Lloyds customer for X years and don't want to have to involve the information commissioner / financial ombudsman.
Hope it helps. This is what I did and I got the statements within 1 week;-) Good luck0 -

Yes it means you will receive them and they have 40 days under the data protection act to comply with your request. If it is going to take longer then that is not your responsibility. You can wait or you can advise you will complain to the Information Commissioner for the delay as it breaches your entitlement. You may find they turn up sooner0 -
