I don't see why you have a problem with sex shops being on the high street. If you have moral objections, should tobacconists and bookmakers be banned also?
Pornographic films are regulated in the same way as all other films. If they are for sale in a high street sex shop, they are at most an 18 rating, and hence no worse than any mainstream 18.
This I agree with. Cigarettes are infinitely more damaging than sex-shops will ever be.0 -

I don't work in the industry per se, but I do have a professional and personal involvement - it's a long story! I just wish that people were better informed on the subject.
If your children can see the !!!!!! mags, then they are on too low a shelf and the retailer should be reported. I assume that you mean younger children?

Children can see top shelves, They have better eyesight than adults usually.
Yes I think bookmakers should be banned, and I think smoking should be, which would solve the issue of tobacconists.
And your point about films rated 18 only shows you don;t get my point that many films allow high levels of sex these days. I probably wouldn;t watch an 18 rated film because of how much explicit sex is allowed these days. I think the classifications allow too much these days. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

You may not feel these are pornographic but they are objectifying women so come into this category. I have even seen photography magazines with pornographic covers!
They aren't pornography, which is probably the reason why. Have you ever seen Cosmopolitan? Or Playgirl? Or Attitude? Or even old issues of Smash Hits!? All could be considered !!!!!! if your definition includes showing any amount of skin that isn't hands or face. GQ Style had a naked male model on its cover for crying out loud - was that !!!!!!? Of course not. Its readership consists of mainly ABC1 heterosexual males so how could it be !!!!!!?0 -

So you object to gambling, smoking, any 18 films ... Anything else? You are coming across as very narrowminded, and need to be careful not to put that on your children.Gone ... or have I?0 -

But some of us believe that as adults, we shouldn't be subject to censorship.
If I watch a film, I generally look the film up on sites like Allmovie or IMDb to get an idea of the content. If I feel that it would be unsuitable for me then I elect not to watch it. If I do start watching a film and find the content to be not to my taste I just stop watching and get on with something else. I don't feel it is my place to tell other people what they should and should not be allowed to watch, nor do I believe it is my place to be setting boundaries on what should be permitted in works of fiction.0 -
Been thinking on some of the opinions given seriously but I just cant understand how anyone can feel ok at the thought of the person they love ogling a naked woman - yes probably with a better body than me! - who is draping themselves all over them. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. The fact that I don't want my husband to pay a woman to take her clothes of and turn him on doesn't make me jealous or controlling.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I think the issue here is that the OH knew the OP had issues with the stripper and doesn't seem to have respected that.
Its the lying and sneakiness that would upset me too (and I have no issues with strippers per se). I also agree with all the posters that have said that there is more to this than meets the eye. This isn't just an isolated incident and the OP needs to perhaps visit relationship counselling where a neutral party can help them work through their issues before this goes any further downhill."Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt.
