I've just managed to upgrade my 9 year old Halifax CC to the Clarity Reward card via the phone.

When I asked about doing it in branch earlier, they said it had to be done on the phone.

At the bottom of this page:

    http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/low-rate-no-fee/clarity-card/?pagetabs=4#Clarity_Rewards_Credit_Card

    it says

Where can I apply for the Clarity Rewards Credit Card?
Eligible customers can apply for the Clarity Rewards Card by visiting one of our branches.

I applied online, and was given the Reward Clarity, so the website is incorrect.

I tried in branch and they told me it had to be done by phone

On the phone I was transferred to the loyalty department who offered me the reward card at 12.9%

I'm thinking of opening one of these (provided I can get to it!) before going on holiday - does anyone know if withdrawing from a cash machine (abroad) counts towards the £300 a month spending?

No, only purchases (whether home or abroad) count towards the £300.
  • How do you know if the card you have is the standard halifax clarity, or the halifax rewards clarity card? . Whats different? How do you tell?
