Does the Halifax rewards clarity card still exist?

I am looking for the Halifax rewards clarity credit card which offers those with the Reward current account a £5 a month payment each month that you spend over £300 (as mentioned on this site).
But I can't find it - on the Halifax site there is a Clarity card but no mention of rewards or £5 a month.
I opened the Reward currrent account a few weeks ago, in part to get this credit card! Have they withdrawn it or am I missing something?

  • You are right it is not there so I assume it is not available any more.

I have the reward current account and credit card.
I received my last £5 on the card statement on 22nd February. I will keep an eye out for the next one, because I have not read anywhere that it was now not available to existing customers.

We used to to shop at Tesco. But then we saw the light.

Commented upon in a couple of threads. There's a view that the Clarity card you can see now doubles as both - but you get the £5 if you have the current account / spend the £300 monthly. Still a bit unclear.

But - I opened one via 'phone after the Reward card went AWOL just over a week ago - without problem. Just an irritation as you then have to sign an application form therefore it elongates the process.

Give them a ring - I think you'll find it's still available. But - for some reason - it's now under the counter!

I applied for one online last week and received a letter dated 10/03/2011 stating "Your new HALIFAX CLARITY REWARD CREDIT CARD is just one step away!"...

http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/home.asp still says "To receive the Rewards Clarity Card cashback reward, of £5 a month, you'll need to spend at least £300 in each statement period, stay within your credit limit and make your payments on time. Purchases that are refunded into your account won't count towards the £300 spend requirement. The cashback reward on the Halifax Clarity Credit Card is tax free."

That note is referenced by a double asterisk ..... which doesn't link to any of the cards on the page? I think it did when the Rewards Clarity Card was still on there? But now it's been removed the note is stranded.

There's a whole host of references to the card from a Search of the site ..... but now they just pull up the detail to the basic Clarity card. A week ago yesterday - the day they appear to have pulled the card from online - those Search results all produced the result that the 'page couldn't be loaded'.

So they've obviously done some work on the links .... but still failed to crystallise just what they've done with the Rewards version.

But it also says in the last sentence of that paragraph
The cashback reward on the Halifax Clarity Credit Card is tax free.

    hi
i think the plain clarity card doubles as the rewards card as well. i just got a clarity card some weeks ago and i received a letter last week telling me i woud get 5pounds if i spent 300 on purchases on the card and some other info. my account is just a normal current account as well.
  • I rang the Halifax credit card number and they told me the Clarity Rewards card is not available by phone or online, only in branch. So I went into my branch yesterday and they opened it. The man in the branch seemed to think that it was available online though!
